Taapsee reveals Akshay, SRK have small entourages, questions producers
In recent times, one has often seen industry insiders talking about the growing cost of entourage of actors and how it becomes a huge burden on the film’s budget and the producers. Many producers, directors like Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap among others have discussed it. Actors like John Abraham also expressed shock to know that the per day fee of a stylist goes up to Rs 1 lakh and more. Now in a recent interview, Taapsee Pannu has also opened up on it. The actress said during an interview with Bollywood Hungama, “I was seeing interviews and a couple of producers were complaining about how stars have so much cost attached to them and they have such a huge entourage cost. This was such a heated discussion. They said that stars have 4–5 people following them everywhere.”She went on to say that her own experiences with some of the industry’s biggest names suggest otherwise. Having worked with stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, she believes the idea that every actor travels with a large team is largely a misconception. “Firstly, it is not the case with every star. I have worked with the industry’s two biggest stars, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan also for that matter, but when I was working with Shah Rukh sir there aren’t as many people around him. It’s a myth that all actors have huge entourage.”Taapsee also pointed out that producers themselves play a role in sustaining this system. According to her, it is contradictory for them to publicly criticise actors’ demands while continuing to hire them under the same conditions. “Yes, some actors do have huge entourages, but my question is that the people who are giving these interviews and producers who have a problem with that, they are the ones who are actually giving work to those stars and actors who have this kind of entourage. These actors are called delusional for demanding so much in this economy, but then these producers are only giving them this. Either you change it or don’t complain about it. From the outside, what do I believe? What they are saying in interviews or what they are doing in real life.”Earlier, filmmaker Karan Johar had also spoken about the issue and the rising expenses tied to actors’ teams. On Komal Nahta’s show, ‘Game Changers’, he revealed how costly hair and makeup teams have become for producers. “I can’t tell you the cost they charge for hair and makeup. I would like Roohi and Yash to become hair and makeup artists because they are making more money than a lot of other people,” he said.He further added, “My problem is with actors who are getting mammoth payments and still expect the producers to pay for their basic needs. Show some grace. It’s strange to me when these small issues become points of contention. I don’t understand why some actors travel with six to eight people in their entourage.”
IPL 2026: Saikia provides an update on schedule for upcoming edition
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia said that the schedule for the first 20 days of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be announced within the next two to three days, considering the election dates in a few states.
The IPL 2026 is set to kick off from March 28, the official broadcaster Star Sports confirmed on Sunday.
While speaking to the ANI, Saikia said, “We will announce the first 20-day schedule of IPL in 2 or 3 days after considering the election dates in a few states and will announce the rest of the tournament schedule later”.
The announcement of the cash-rich league`s schedule will be two-phased, with the state assembly elections set to take place in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
In the previous edition, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched the title. They defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Earlier this month, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary, Santosh Menon, confirmed that the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will host five of the RCB`s IPL 2026 home games. The venue will also host one of the play-off matches and the title clash of the tournament.
Bengaluru`s remaining two home matches will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Cricket at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has been suspended since June last year. Following RCB`s triumph, fans gathered in huge numbers outside the stadium. During the celebrations, 11 people lost their lives, and several were left injured in a stampede.
The stadium did not host any of the ICC Women`s World Cup matches or the recently concluded Men`s T20 World Cup 2026 games. Even the domestic and state franchise-based tournaments had been affected by this suspension placed on the iconic venue.

Critics’ Choice Awards full list of nominees: Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound and Vikramaditya Motwane’s crime thriller Black Warrant have emerged as the front-runners at the 8th Critics’ Choice Awards, with six and seven nominations respectively, the Film Critics Guild announced on Tuesday. The annual awards, presented in association with WPP Motion Entertainment, cover feature films, web series, short films, and documentaries, with voting conducted by 56 film critics from across the country.

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers resigns, co-founder Rahul Bhatia returns after flight crisis| Business News
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers has resigned, India’s largest airline operated by Interglobe Aviation Ltd. said on Tuesday, in the aftermath of the carrier’s worst-ever flight crisis. Rahul Bhatia, co-founder and managing director, has assumed management of the airline on an interim basis.
“As per our conversation, due to personal reasons, I herewith submit my resignation from the position of CEO of IndiGo with effect from today. I would request that notice period may be waived off,” Elbers wrote in his resignation letter to Bhatia.
“It has been both an honour and privilege to serve as IndiGo CEO these past years, since September 2022, and being a part of the great IndiGo family, it’s beautiful growth story and the steps we have made together in this.”
In a little over three years since Elbers taking the helm in September 2022, IndiGo crossed the $10-billion revenue mark, expanded its fleet to over 440 aircraft, and placed a historic order for 500 Airbus A320-family planes.
But despite his successes, Elbers’ tenure was marred by an operational meltdown in December 2025. The flight crisis was triggered by IndiGo’s struggle to implement new rules designed to prevent pilot fatigue.
Between December 3 and 5, IndiGo cancelled over 2,500 flights and delayed nearly 1,900 more, affecting over 300,000 passengers. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation imposed a record fine of ₹22.20 crore and issued showcause notices directly to Elbers. While he initially survived calls for his resignation, the crisis significantly dented the airline’s reputation for punctuality.
Rahul Bhatia returns
The IndiGo CEO resignation marks a comeback of sorts for co-founder Bhatia, especially in the absence of his other co-founder Rakesh Gangwal who resigned from the board of directors in February 2022.
“Having founded and nurtured IndiGo for 22 years, I feel a deep sense of personal commitment and responsibility towards our nation, and towards the airline’s customers, employees, shareholders and all other stakeholders,” Bhatia said in a press statement.
“While placing culture, service excellence and stakeholder trust at the forefront of its operations, IndiGo will continue to sharpen its strategic focus on serving India and her people with an airline that is professionally managed, operationally reliable and globally respected.”

On Tuesday, IndiGo shares rose 3.46% to ₹4,382.45 apiece on the BSE even as the benchmark Sensex ended the day 0.82% higher at 78,205.98 points.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, a key member of the World Cup T20 winning team, rebuffed a question on Tuesday about 1983 WC winner Kirti Azad’s objections to the trophy being taken specifically to a Hindu temple in Ahmedabad. Azad’s contention was that this goes against a multi-faith, secular country’s ethos.
Kishan was asked about this as he landed at the Patna airport.
He responded, “Well, we have won so well in the World Cup. What do I say now on what Kirti Azad said?” To another question by a different reporter, he said, “Yes, you are asking such a good question! You should ask about how much fun we had; how we made runs.”
He turned back to a reporter and, speaking in Hindi, said, “You asked a useless (‘bekaar’) question,” then smiled and walked away.
Kirti Azad, who is also a Trinamool Congress MP from West Bengal, raised questions over India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, coach Gautam Gambhir, and ICC chairman Jay Shah taking the World Cup trophy won on Sunday to a Hanuman Mandir in Ahmedabad.
“Why NOT a Mosque? Why NOT a Church? Why NOT a Gurudwara?… The Trophy Belongs to 1.4 BILLION Indians of EVERY Faith — NOT ONE RELIGION’S VICTORY LAP!” read the X post by Azad.
He said it was shameful that one religion got precedence.
“When we won the World Cup under Kapil Dev in 1983, we had Hindu Muslim Sikh and Christian in the team. We brought the trophy to our religious birth place our motherland India Bharat Hindustan,” he wrote.
“This Team Represents INDIA — not Surya Kumar Yadav’s or Jay Shah’s Family,” he further said, and then mentioned non-Hindu players too make his point.
“(Mohammad) Siraj never paraded it at a Mosque. Sanju (Samson) never took it to a Church… latter had a major part to play and was man of the tournament,” he wrote.
It was on Sunday night that Suryakumar Yadav, head coach and former BJP MP Gambhir and International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah, son of Union home minister and BJP leader Amit Shah, visited the Hanuman Temple in Ahmedabad and took blessings with the T20 World Cup trophy in hand.
Azad’s party TMC, ruling Bengal for over a decade, has been at loggerheads with the BJP as state elections are barely a couple of months away. It has accused the BJP of communalising the state’s politics with a Hindutva-centred strategy, while the BJP accuses CM Mamata Banerjee of “appeasing” Muslims instead.
