Talwiinder says 'my world turned upside down’ after viral video revealed his face: People making content on it for views

Singer Talwiinder has been living a dual life for years, hiding his face behind a mask in his music videos and concerts. The singer built his career around his signature mask. However, his “world turned upside down” recently when a video showing him unmasked at Nupur Sanon and Stebin Ben’s wedding went viral on social media.

Talwiinder talks about how the viral video affected him

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Talwiinder spoke about the moment the video surfaced, revealing that nearly 500 people sent it to him. He said, “I woke up to the video and saw my face everywhere. I was not in the right state of mind when I saw it. I felt like my face was snatched away from me. My world turned upside down.”

He added, “On top of that, you see people making content on it just to get some views. That shows their true colours as well. Just for some views and likes, you are really going to use this content to get another piece out of it. Even the person who gave the video to the media—why? For ₹5,000, ₹10,000, ₹50,000?”

The singer further emphasised that his music is meant for the ears, not the eyes. According to him, the mask shields him from the constant pressure of “always looking fly” and from being recognised in public.

Why Talwiinder’s appearance at Nupur Sanon’s wedding grabbed attention

Apart from the viral video revealing his face, Talwiinder also grabbed attention after being spotted spending time with actor Disha Patani, sparking dating rumours. The two were later seen walking hand in hand at the Lollapalooza 2026 concert, seemingly confirming their relationship. However, in the same interview, Talwiinder clarified that he and Disha are still getting to know each other and do not want to give in to the pressure created by rumours.

Mandhana’s breathtaking 41-ball 87 helped Bengaluru pull off a record-breaking chase of 204 against Delhi Capitals, sealing one of the most dramatic triumphs in WPL history.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!Speaking after the final, Rangarajan hailed Mandhana’s innings as one of the finest he had witnessed, praising her control and composure under pressure. “Smriti, I think, saved one of her best innings for the final. The way she batted today was inhuman — so classy, so elegant. It didn’t even look like a 200 chase the way she was timing the ball,” he said, highlighting how the skipper dictated the tempo of the chase.

The coach also disclosed the extent of Mandhana’s illness, calling her effort a testament to her leadership. “Smriti played this game with a massive, massive flu. She was seriously unwell with a high fever, but she turned up and didn’t even show it. T20 WC 2026: India ready to play Pakistan as T20 World Cup boycott looms

India captain Suryakumar Yadav has confirmed that his team will fly to Colombo for their ICC T20 World Cup match against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15, despite the latter deciding to boycott the fixture.

“Hamari toh flight booked hai Colombo ki, aur ham toh jaa rahe hain… aur baaki udhar dekh lenge [our flight is booked for Colombo and we are going. Rest we will see there]. The discussion within the team is also clear.

First, we will play the match on [February] 7 [vs USA]. Then we will go to New Delhi [for the match against Namibia on February 12], and after that we will go to Colombo,” Suryakumar said during the captains’ press conference at the BCCI headquarters at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Defending champions India are placed in Group A alongside USA, Pakistan, Namibia, and the Netherlands, and will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against the Monank Patel-led USA at Wankhede on Saturday.

Continuing to speak on the Indo-Pak match boycott row, Suryakumar added: “Our mindset is pretty clear. We have not said no [to playing Pakistan]. They have. The ICC has given the fixture. Our flight is booked and we are going there [to Colombo].” After Bangladesh were replaced by Scotland for refusing to play in India citing security concerns, the Pakistan team received instructions from their government to skip the match against India.

“It was their [Pakistan] decision, it’s not in my control. I wish I could take their decisions, but it’s their call. We have been told that we have to play a game there [in Colombo] on [February] 15. We played them three times in the Asia Cup [recently], we played some good cricket and won [all the matches]. Similarly, if we get an opportunity in Colombo, we will definitely play,” Suryakumar added.

Pak PM: Decision to boycott India game appropriate, we are with Bangladesh

Calling Pakistan’s boycott of their T20 World Cup match against India an “appropriate decision”, the country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that it was a “considered stance” to support Bangladesh.

Shehbaz Sharif

Pakistan’s cricket team has been told by the government to skip the February 15 game in Colombo after Bangladesh were replaced by Scotland for refusing to play its games in India on account of “security concerns”.

“We have taken a very clear stand on the T20 World Cup that we won’t play the match against India because there should be no politics on the sports field,” Sharif stated after a government meeting here.

“We have taken a very considered stance, and we should completely stand by Bangladesh, and I think this is a very appropriate decision. We are with Bangladesh,” he added. In response, Bangladesh sports advisor Asif Nazrul posted “Thank You, Pakistan” on his official Facebook page, while quoting Sharif’s statement.

RBI keeps repo rate at 5.25% after India US, EU trade deals boost outlook| Business News

The Reserve Bank of India has kept its benchmark repurchase rate unchanged citing benign inflation, even as a myriad trade deals boosts the outlook for the world’s fastest growing major economy.

The RBI’s six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), which met over 4-6 February, voted unanimously to keep the repo rate at 5.25%, Governor Sanjay Malhotra said during his televised speech on Friday. The policy stance was retained at neutral.

A majority of the 39 economists surveyed by Bloomberg had expected the central bank to keep its benchmark repurchase rate unchanged at 5.25% on Friday. With India’s GDP growth rate seen at more than 7% for a second straight year in FY27 and the rupee posting its biggest rally in seven years, some economists expect the rate-cut cycle may even be over.

The RBI has now cut rates by a total of 125 basis points since February 2025—the most aggressive easing since 2019. It had cut rates by 25 basis points at its last meeting in December.

One basis point is one-hundredth of a percentage point.

RBI MPC Decisions Today

Here’s a quick look at the key decisions taken by India’s Monetary Policy Committee over their 4-6 February meeting:

  • RBI maintains benchmark repurchase rate at 5.25%.
  • RBI maintains a neutral monetary policy stance going ahead.
  • India’s GDP growth seen at 6.9% in Q1 FY27 versus 6.7% earlier.
  • India’s inflation rate seen at 3.9% in Q1 FY27 versus 4.0% earlier.
  • New CPI, GDP series for Indian economy are due later in February.

“The successful completion of trade deals augur well for the economic outlook,” RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said in his speech on Friday.

India has signed a “mother of all trade deals” with the European Union and arrived at an agreement with the United States to reduce the tariff on its exports to 18% from 50% earlier.

After the RBI’s status quo on repo rate, the rupee held on to slight gains against the dollar. India’s government bonds extended losses as the central bank did not announce any fresh liquidity measures, with 10-year bond yields rising as much as six basis points to 6.70%.

Malhotra said he will give full-year inflation or growth projections in April after the government publishes a new series for both data.

“The governor sounded optimistic about the growth prospects in FY27 since ‘high frequency indicators suggest continuation of the growth momentum’,” said Geojit Investments Chief Investment Strategist V.K. Vijayakumar.

“An important takeaway from Malhotra’s remark that ‘there has been uptick in bank credit growth in recent months’ is that the profitability of banks are likely to improve going forward, and this is good news for banking stocks.”

Going forward, RBI’s monetary policy will guided by the evolving macroeconomic conditions and outlook based on the data of the new series in charting future economic activity, Malhotra said.

“The RBI tone shows comfort on current policy setting with growth strengthening and inflation remaining benign,” said Gaura Sen Gupta, India economist at IDFC First Bank Ltd. She now expects the MPC to remain on a “prolonged pause”.

Ghooskhor Pandat: FIR filed against makers in Lucknow for hurting sentiments

In mounting troubles for the upcoming Netflix film titled Ghooskhor Pandat, authorities in Uttar Pradesh have filed an FIR at Lucknow`s Hazratganj Police Station against the director and team after orders from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The move follows complaints from the Brahmin community and social organisations, with police citing concerns over public harmony and potential protests.

FIR at Hazratganj against Ghooskhor Pandat makers

According to ANI, an FIR has been registered at Hazratganj Police Station in Lucknow against the makers of the web series Ghooskhor Pandat over allegations that its title and content “hurt religious and caste sentiments” and threaten public harmony. The action follows directions to take strict measures against content that disturbs social peace, officials said.

According to the Lucknow Police, the Station House Officer of Kotwali Hazratganj, Inspector Vikram Singh, took cognisance of complaints related to the film/web series, which is stated to be broadcast on social media and an OTT platform. The FIR filing comes after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reportedly directed law enforcement officials to act in response to complaints about the film.

The police said that prima facie the title has been deliberately framed to target and insult a particular community—specifically the Brahmin community—by associating the term “Pandat” with corruption.

Authorities cited widespread anger and resentment among members of the Brahmin community and various social organisations over the name and alleged content of the film. The police noted that some organisations have warned of aggressive protests, raising concerns about law and order and the potential disruption of social harmony.

About writ petition in Delhi

The police action comes amid parallel legal proceedings in Delhi. A writ petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the release and streaming of an upcoming Netflix film titled Ghooskhor Pandat.

Amid the public outrage, the makers have pulled down all promotional materials pertaining to the film. Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey issued a statement saying, “We genuinely acknowledge those feelings. In light of these concerns, we have decided to take down all promotional materials for the time being, as we believe the film should be experienced in its entirety and understood in the context of the story we intended to tell, rather than judged on partial glimpses.”

Australia’s T20 World Cup preparations have suffered a massive setback with veteran pacer Josh Hazlewood ruled out of the tournament, leaving the former champions without their famed “Big Three” quicks at a global event for the first time since 2011. The 35-year-old has not played since injuring his hamstring during a Sheffield Shield match in November, and selectors have now confirmed that his recovery timeline makes participation too risky.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW!National selector Tony Dodemaide admitted the team had initially hoped Hazlewood would regain fitness during the latter stages of the tournament but recent medical updates forced a rethink. “We were hopeful Josh would be back to match fitness by the Super Eights stage but the latest indications are he is still some time away,” Dodemaide said. “Trying to accelerate his program will carry too much of a risk.”

T20 World Cup captain’s day: Australia, Ireland, Netherlands, Oman

Cricket Australia also confirmed that no immediate replacement would be named, with management opting to assess their needs as the tournament progresses.Hazlewood’s absence, combined with Pat Cummins’ injury and Mitchell Starc’s retirement from T20 Internationals, marks the first World Cup since March 2011 without any member of Australia’s iconic pace trio.

Poll

How do you feel about Australia’s chances in the T20 World Cup without Josh Hazlewood?

The development leaves captain Mitch Marsh short of experienced fast-bowling options ahead of the opening clash against Ireland in Colombo, with Xavier Bartlett and Ben Dwarshuis currently the only fully fit frontline quicks. Nathan Ellis is racing against time to be match-ready, while Sean Abbott remains a travelling reserve who could be drafted in later.Despite the depleted pace stocks, Marsh remains optimistic about Australia’s balance, hinting at a spin-heavy strategy in Sri Lankan conditions. “We’ve been able to build a lot of depth within our squad… we’ve got a lot of confidence in the guys to do the job,” he said, praising Adam Zampa and Matthew Kuhnemann while highlighting the all-round value of Marcus Stoinis and Cameron Green.Coming off a tough 3-0 series loss to Pakistan, Australia now face a defining challenge — reshaping their bowling identity.

Manoj Bajpayee breaks silence after FIR on Neeraj Pandey, Ghooskhor Pandat team: ‘Not a statement on community’

After Netflix India announced its slate of web series and films for 2026, one project caught the attention for all the wrong reasons. An FIR was filed against the makers of the film Ghooskhor Pandat for allegedly hurting sentiments with its title and content. After director Neeraj Pandey, lead actor Manoj Bajpayee broke the silence on the issue.

Manoj Bajpayee breaks silence on backlash to Ghooskhor Pandat

Sharing Neeraj’s statement on X (formerly Twitter), Manoj wrote that his intention wasn’t to cause harm, “I respect the emotions and concerns people have shared, and I take them seriously. When something you are part of causes hurt to some people, it makes you pause and listen.” He also clarified that the intention wasn’t to hurt any community, “As an actor, I come to a film through the character and the story I am playing. For me, this was about portraying a flawed individual and his journey of self-realisation. This was not meant to be a statement about any community.”

Stating that Neeraj has always been careful in how he approaches his work, Manoj added, “In my experience of working with Neeraj Pandey, there has been a consistent seriousness and care in how he approaches his films.” He also claimed that the promotional material of the film being taken down shows how seriously the matter is being taken, writing, “The filmmakers have decided to take down the promotional material for the time being, in light of the public sentiment. This reflects the seriousness with which the concerns are being taken.”

Neeraj Pandey releases statement after FIR filed on team

Neeraj also released a statement on Friday, stating that the story of Ghooskhor Pandat is fictional and has nothing to do with any caste or community. He acknowledged that the film’s title ‘hurt’ a section of the audience and reiterated that all promotional materials are being taken down. He also stated that in the fictional cop drama, the word Pandat is simply a colloquial name for a fictional character.

“The story focuses on an individual’s actions and choices and does not comment on or represent any caste, religion, or community. As a filmmaker, I approach my work with a deep sense of responsibility – to tell stories that are thoughtful and respectful,” he wrote, adding, “We understand that the title of the film has caused hurt to some viewers, and we genuinely acknowledge those feelings.”

Legal proceedings against team Ghooskhor Pandat

This came after the film’s announcement earlier this week was met with backlash and FIRs. The National Human Rights Commission also issued a notice to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting about the title of the film promoting ‘negative stereotypes’ and stating that it ‘vilifies a recognised social group’. A writ petition has also been filed before the Delhi High Court by Mahender Chaturvedi through Advocate Vineet Jindal seeking a stay on the release of Ghooskhor Pandat.

An FIR was registered at Hazratganj Police Station in Lucknow against Neeraj and the makers of Ghooskhor Pandat over allegations that its title and content ‘hurt religious and caste sentiments’ and threaten public harmony. The police said that prima facie the title has been deliberately framed to target and insult a particular community, specifically the Brahmin community, by associating the term Pandat with corruption.

Featuring Manoj Bajpayee in the title role, Ghooskhor Pandat follows Ajay Dikshit, also known as Pandat, a corrupt police officer whose plans for a lucrative and eventful night are disrupted when he finds himself caught in the middle of a global conspiracy unfolding in the heart of Delhi.
