The incident occurred during Match 26 of PSL 2026 between Quetta Gladiators and defending champions Lahore Qalandars, sparking widespread trolling on social media.Ahead of the match, Quetta Gladiators had announced that Sri Lanka veteran Dinesh Chandimal would replace New Zealand batter Bevon Jacobs in the squad. However, confusion unfolded at the toss when captain Saud Shakeel revealed that both Chandimal and Jacobs were part of the Playing XI, contradicting the earlier announcement and leaving fans puzzled.
The franchise later clarified the situation, with general manager Nabeel Hashmi explaining that all-rounder Tom Curran had fallen ill, forcing a late change in plans. Chandimal, who was initially brought in as Jacobs’ replacement, was instead included in place of Curran, allowing both Chandimal and Jacobs to feature in the same XISocial Media buzzed over PSL for unprofessional act during the match:

DA hike: Govt approves 2% dearness allowance raise for central government employees
The Cabinet on Saturday approved a 2 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for Central government employees and pensioners, taking the rate to 60 per cent of basic pay, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced.The hike will be effective from January 1, 2026, and is expected to benefit about 50.5 lakh employees and 68.3 lakh pensioners. The annual financial implication of the decision is estimated at Rs 6,791 crore.The DA for central government employees was last revised in October, when it was increased from 55 per cent to 58 per cent. That hike was made effective from July 1, 2025, and was later implemented with arrears, benefiting both serving employees and pensioners.The government revises Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) twice a year, in January and July, as part of its regular compensation framework for employees and pensioners. These adjustments are meant to offset the impact of inflation and help preserve purchasing power.Dearness Allowance is a cost-of-living adjustment paid to government employees, calculated as a percentage of basic pay to help salaries and pensions keep pace with rising prices.The latest move comes amid wider demands from employee bodies for major changes under the proposed 8th Pay Commission.In its memorandum, the National Council-Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM) had sought a fitment factor of 3.83, which could raise the minimum basic pay from Rs 18,000 to about Rs 69,000.It has also proposed expanding the definition of “family” for pay calculations to include dependent parents, along with a cap on pay disparity, higher increments and inflation-linked allowances.Meanwhile, the Cabinet is also said to have approved a Sovereign Maritime Fund with a corpus of about Rs 13,000 crore to provide stable and affordable insurance cover for Indian-flagged, India-bound and India-originating vessels.It is also learnt to have extended the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) till 2028, with an additional allocation of Rs 3,000 crore.

Sharing the video, Zareen penned an emotional note which read, “إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ (Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we shall return). My mother, my first love, my best friend, my baby, my world, my everything… It’s been 10 days since you are gone. I’m not going to write a long caption for the world to read because you know exactly what I’m going through right now without you.”
She added, “There’s a constant ache and emptiness in my heart which is irreplaceable. Be the chhota baby you always were and enjoy your parents’ love in Jannat… until we meet again.” Zareen’s mother passed away on April 8, 2026. However, the actor did not reveal the cause of her mother’s death.
Her industry peers, including Tabu and Sangeeta Bijlani, offered their condolences in the comment section. Fans also showed support during her difficult time. One fan wrote, “So sorry for your loss dear, nothing can replace a mother in this world. May her kind soul rest in peace. Stay strong.” Another commented, “This is really heartbreaking… I hope you stay strong.” Another wrote, “May her soul rest in Jannat. Ameen.”

Rajasthan Royals’ young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to be one of the biggest talking points of IPL 2026, but head coach Kumar Sangakkara has urged patience and perspective around the 15-year-old. After lighting up the tournament with fearless strokeplay against top bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Hazlewood, Sooryavanshi endured a reality check when he fell for a golden duck to Praful Hinge against Sunrisers Hyderabad. “My message to Vaibhav is simple: enjoy everything. Whether it’s 100 off 35 balls, 50 off 15, or a first-ball duck — you’re allowed to score runs, and you’re allowed to fail. It’s part and parcel of cricket,” Sangakkara said, addressing the expectations around the teenager. The Royals coach emphasised that Sooryavanshi’s rise is not just about talent. “Vaibhav is such an exciting young player. People talk about talent, but they should also understand the amount of work he puts in at the nets. He reads the game really well, anticipates situations, and plans against bowlers effectively.” Sooryavanshi, who starred with a remarkable 175 in India’s Under-19 World Cup triumph earlier this year, has carried that momentum into the IPL. Low scores will happen to him and to everyone else, but I’m very happy to have Vaibhav with us.” Sangakkara also reserved special praise for Dhruv Jurel, who has impressed at No. 3. His unbeaten 81 in a 200-plus chase against RCB underlined his growing importance. “He always had an approach focused on scoring — he’s a high-intent player. He’s not a big guy, but he’s strong and has both power and skill. For Dhruv now, he has a clear idea of his path forward at RR and possibly for India. That clarity has freed him to play with more freedom.” Meanwhile, captain Riyan Parag continues to search for runs, though Sangakkara believes performances are better than the numbers suggest. “I think the good thing is that when I watch Riyan bat, he’s actually batting really well. Calvin Harris spreads his charm over Mumbai on his debut India tour
Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris is currently on his debut India tour, and after mesmerising the crowd in Bengaluru on Friday, his second stop came in Mumbai on Saturday. The excitement for the same was at an high for Mumbaikars, and it reflected in the thousands of people that came to watch him perform.
The way leading to the concert venue at Infinity Bay in Sewri did irk the viewers a little, with many complaining about the dust, infrastructure, management, and stricter regulations post the recent MDMA incident at NESCO on April 11 where two MBA students died of drug overdose. But the concerns were all subsided as soon as Calvin Harris took to stage. For two hours, the DJ got Mumbaikars dancing and grooving to his beats, playing some of his hit chartbusters.
The DJ started his set with Sweet Nothing, following it by introducing himself to the crowd and expressing his excitement to be there. “It’s my first time in India. It’s a pleasure to be here,” he said to a cheering crowd. He continued the set with the crowd pleaser, Outside.
Calvin’s set boasted some of his chartbusters like This Is What You Came For, One Kiss, Release The Pressure, Blame, Eat Sleep Rave Repeat, Feel So Close, Where Have You Been, Satisfaction among others. The DJ kept the audience on their toes, making sure the energy never dipped in his whole set.
While the music was the biggest selling point of the night, the audience also got to witness visual extravagance with smoke, fire and lights bringing another layer of excitement to the act. The light show in particular sent the crowd into a trance as the open sky of Mumbai lit up with music and fanfare.
Towards the end of his set, Calvin delivered on what the audience expected by playing one of his most successful tracks, We Found Love, and the crowd couldn’t stop themselves from singing it alongside him, with the voice of thousands in sync echoing through the ground.
Calvin also ensured active participation from the crowd by making them raise and wave their hands, and even shutting the music for a bit to let the audience take over from the recorded music and sing it live. He closed his performance with Good Feeling, leaving Mumbaikars under the spell of his magic and the memory of a musical night that would linger on their mind for a long time.
Calvin Harris is on a three-city debut India tour by Sunburn and BookMyShow Live. While his first performance was in Bengaluru on April 17, he performed in Mumbai on Saturday, and will conclude the tour with his performance in Delhi tonight.
Why Travis Head is struggling in IPL 2026: Rayudu and Finch break down SRH star’s form slump
Travis Head hasn’t had the best of starts to an IPL campaign by his lofty standards. Since making his re-entry into the league as a part of SRH, he scored 567 and 374 runs in 2024 and 2025.
Despite coming into the ongoing campaign on the back of his Ashes heroics, Head has struggled to get going. In six matches, he has scored 143 runs at an average of 23.83 and a strike-rate of 144.44. Against CSK, the Aussie opener scored 23 runs off 20 balls, failing to capitalise on the start he got.

Ambati Rayudu and Aaron Finch dissected what’s actually gone wrong so far with Head from a technical aspect.
WHAT’S GOING WRONG?
Rayudu said that Head is focusing more on trying to hit on the onside rather sticking to his strength, which is to attack the offside. He felt the bowlers are also bowling a bit fuller not allowing him the room to play the shots freely.
“I think he’s waiting for the short length ball to hit on the onside. I think that’s where he thought his weakness was, and he maybe thought he should improve hitting more on the onside, and that’s where I feel he has just stopped focusing on what his actual strength is, and that is to hit through the offside.”
“I think even the bowlers have started doing that, just bowled slightly fuller, maybe starting from the leg stump, not giving him too much room,” said Rayudu.
Finch felt that the use of slower deliveries has meant that Head isn’t being given one particular pace to work with, which is one of the SRH batter’s biggest strengths.
“I think the fact that teams are now bowling slower balls really early, so they’re not allowing him to line up one particular pace, that’s one of his great strengths. You think of how damaging he is in Test cricket. His wheelhouse is when you try and bowl what we determine. A good length ball, about 4th stump, so that’s where he’s got so many options, whereas now they’re not giving it to him, they’re they’re going really full or they’re going slow, they’re taking it away from him,” said Finch.
The former Aussie skipper also feels the constant mixing up of deliveries has also hampered Head’s form this campaign.
“So just the constant mixing up of deliveries to ,not allow him to just line you up is so crucial. Cause you know once he starts lining you up, he keeps coming so hard, doesn’t he? And that’s one of his great strengths, but it just hasn’t quite clicked so far,” said Finch.
