Reality show star and influencer Uorfi Javed posted a candid note about her journey on her social media account. She wrote that she is still waiting for her big break. Taking to Instagram, she admitted that she believed her reality shows Follow Kar Lo Yaar and The Traitors would change her life and make her a household name, but they didn`t.

Uorfi Javed on not `making it` in the industry

She expressed disappointment that her journey has not shaped up as she expected, and said that she still does not feel like she has truly “made it” in the industry.

Speaking about Follow Kar Lo Yaar, she penned, “Now, this was my reality show, something which I dreamt of, something which I wanted more than my life. I can never forget the day I got the call from smitalshintre saying the show is finally happening. I gave my 500 percent to this show, I thought it will change my life and it did. Not because of the fame or validation but because of the people I met through the show. The entire team, who I still talk to, who I call my closest friends. I remember losing my hair, weight, sleep, everything before the show.”

She wrote that after emerging as the winner of The Traitors India, she believed her life would transform again with fame and money and she would have no worries left. “Then I got this show – I thought winning this show will change my life (when I talk about change my life I mean blind fame and money), I thought after this show I will be a household name, I will never have to worry a single day in my life, everything will be sorted. That didn`t happen but I still won. I had never won anything in my life. This was a crazy experience.”

Uorfi on receiving threats from politicians

Uorfi Javed mentioned that she has been abused and even received threats from politicians, normal people and people from the industry, prompting her to visit the police station numerous times.

“I`ve been subjected to the harshest of trolling and abuses. Politicians, normal people, industry people, I`ve been abused, trolled, given threats. I`ve gone to the police station so many times. I still feel I haven`t reached my full potential. I still keep asking universe mera time kab aayega? With every step I took I just wanted to be accepted by the people, appreciated. I chose a very very unconventional and difficult way for myself. The world wasn`t kind to me. There was a time I used to cry when someone complimented me cause I was only used to the abuses. I`m still waiting for that one moment, one opportunity.”

Directed by acclaimed Egyptian filmmaker Ali El Arabi, 52 Blue is a poignant coming-of-age story that follows a young Indian football enthusiast’s journey as a migrant worker to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The film explores themes of identity, aspiration, and resilience, set against a deeply emotional family backdrop.

It traces the journey of Ashish (Yadav Shashidhar), a young boy growing up under the isolating control of his father on a remote island home. With the quiet strength and support of his mother, and inspired by the memory of his late brother, Ashish eventually finds the courage to break free. His journey takes him across borders as he sets out to meet his idol, Lionel Messi, at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022 – marking his first encounter with the larger world beyond his confined upbringing.

The film also stars Adil Hussain, who plays Neha’s husband, marking their first on-screen collaboration. Neha will play the mother of a young man, bringing depth and emotional gravitas to a character that anchors the narrative.

Produced and directed by Ali El Arabi under his banner Ambient Light, based in Cairo and Los Angeles, the film is executive produced by Tariq Al-Naama, with Krysanne Katsoolis, Joe Matthews, and Katara Studios serving as co-producers.

Neha Dhupia shares excitement for 52 Blue

Sharing her thoughts on the project and her character, Neha Dhupia said, “52 Blue has been one of the most deeply moving and transformative experiences of my career. When I first read the script, what stayed with me was the quiet strength of the mother she doesn’t speak loudly, but her presence shapes her son’s entire world. Playing a mother to a young man for the first time was both challenging and incredibly fulfilling, because it required me to tap into emotions that are raw, instinctive, and deeply human.”

Neha further adds, “The de-glam aspect of the role was never a concern for me; in fact, it was liberating. It allowed me to completely shed any layers of vanity and immerse myself fully into the life of this woman—her silences, her resilience, and her unconditional love. There’s something very powerful about portraying a character who finds strength in vulnerability.”

Neha continues, “Working with Ali El Arabi has been a revelation. His storytelling is so honest and rooted, and he creates an environment where you feel completely safe to explore and push your boundaries. Shooting in Kochi, in such a unique and intimate setting, added so much authenticity to the film.
