Sharing her opinion on the Women`s Reservation Bill during an exclusive conversation with IANS, popular television actress Shubhangi Atre has revealed that she has a problem with reservations. 

The `Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!` actress said that she believes that a person should achieve everything through merit and not simply because of their gender.

She stated that a woman is no less than a man in any aspect.

Shubhangi told IANS, “Look, there are two aspects to this. First, I don`t know why there were less women in politics. I watch the news, but I don`t know why there were less women and why people are not going into politics. They are coming, and they are getting a place. This is a very good thing. But I have a problem with this reservation. I really have a problem. I feel that if any person reaches anywhere, it should be because of their merit. We are no less than a man.”

Citing an example from her personal life, Shubhangi revealed that her father has always told her and her sisters that they are capable of doing anything a man can do.

“We are three sisters. And my father has always taught us that there is nothing in the world that a man can do, and you cannot do. So here I have a problem that women do not need a reservation at all. We are the creators. Nature has given us such a big responsibility to create a new life. So you don`t need a reservation.”

Reiterating that women in general are extremely strong, she concluded, saying, “We are anyway very strong. We are emotionally strong. In crisis management, we are very strong.”

Shubhangi is best known for her role as Angoori Bhabhi in the popular show “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!“.

Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has shared that she asks guests to “change (their) clothes” before they set foot into her luxurious apartment in New York City.

The 53-year-old actress thinks the Big Apple`s street germs are too dirty for her lavish USD 9 million condo in Walker Tower, Chelsea, Manhattan, reports ‘Female First UK’.

During the recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the host asked the actress for her “biggest ick”, to which she said, “Shoes from the street in New York City”. Drew, 51, quipped, “Yes, you cannot. If you want to go into her house, put a body condom on”.

Laughing, Cameron concurred, “You have to change your clothes to come into my house in New York”.

Drew shared, “It`s true, and her house had no germs in it because of it”. Cameron said, “Yeah. I roll around on my floors. It`s OK”.

As per ‘Female First UK’, the actress was joined on the sofa alongside Keanu Reeves, 61, Matt Bomer, 48, and Jonah Hill, 42, as the quartet promoted their new black comedy film, Outcome, which follows damaged star Reef (Keanu) apologising for his past after being blackmailed with outrageous video footage from his past.

And Cameron, who plays Kyle, Reef`s longtime friend, said the movie explores the darker side of celebrity life.

She told ‘People’ magazine, “I also think that this movie shows (fame) in a very interesting light and a very heightened light. Everybody thinks they want to be famous, but there is a cost to it. So it`s a cautionary comedy”.

Cameron relished working with Keanu Reeves again in the Jonah-directed Outcome, 30 years after they starred in the 1996 comedy-romance flick, Feeling Minnesota.

She said at the premiere of the Apple TV movie, “When we worked together 30 years ago, it was like my fourth film. I was very green. I`m embarrassed, the poor guy had to act with this young novice actor who was just starting out. I was happier to get the opportunity to work with him again now, after a little more experience. We`ve seen each other over the years, always happy to see one another. He`s always been who he is now, just has always been the loveliest human”.

As Asha Bhosle passed away aged 92 on April 12, actor Ashish Chowdhry recalled working with the legendary playback singer in the song Na Marte Hum from the album Aap Ki Asha.

In a tribute post to Asha Bhosle, Ashish shared an adorable still on Instagram featuring the late singer. In the picture, he is seen kissing Asha Bhosle on her cheek.

Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 in Mumbai. The singer was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday. Her last rites will be held at Shivaji Park on Monday at 4:00 pm.

On Saturday, her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, revealed that her grandmother was admitted to the hospital due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. She requested privacy during such times.

Zanai wrote, “My grandmother, Asha Bhosle due to extreme exhaustion and suffering a chest infection has been admitted to hospital and we request you to value our privacy. Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively (sic).”

One of the most influential singers of her time, Asha Bhosle, sang her first song as a playback for the 1943 Marathi drama Majha Bal. She is known for lending her voice to some noteworthy numbers such as Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko, Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani, Kya Ghazab Karte Ho Ji, O Haseena Zulfonwale Jane Jahan, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, Accha Ji Main Haari, and Ye Ladka Hay Allah Kaisa Hai Diwana, to name just a few.

The singer was given the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award back in 2000, followed by a Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
