Offset has been discharged from the hospital after he was shot earlier this week in Hollywood, Florida, according to Variety. The rapper shared a health update with fans, saying he is doing “good” while focusing on recovery after the incident. Offset took to his Instagram account on Friday to share a statement thanking fans and well-wishers for the support he received over the last few days.

In the statement, Offset shared that he will stay strong and aims to come back “better.” He wrote, “Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love! I’m good… but I’m planning to be better!” The rapper also said that his attention is now on his family, healing, and returning to music. Reflecting on life’s ups and downs, he added, “I’m focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music… realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses… Life’s a gamble, and I’m still playing to win.”
A spokesperson for Offset told Variety that the rapper has now been released from the hospital and is recovering well. The spokesperson said he is “up and walking” and thanked the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff for taking care of him. “We’re incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and the entire hospital staff who took such great care of him,” said the representative.
About Offset getting shot outside a casino
He was shot on Monday night following a fight at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, just north of Miami. He was taken to the hospital, where his team earlier said he was stable and under close observation.
Police said two people were detained after the incident, and the investigation is still ongoing. Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested in connection with the altercation that occurred before the shooting, the Seminole Police Department in Florida said.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid license and was later released from jail the next day. The second person detained at the scene has not been charged, and investigators were working to identify others involved, police said in a statement on Tuesday.
After reports linked Lil Tjay to the shooting, his lawyer denied the claims. In a statement, attorney Dawn M. Florio said, “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false.”

However, the wicketkeeper-batter has struggled for fluency. Pant has been working hard in the nets, and Saturday afternoon was no exception. The Lucknow faithful will be hoping their captain delivers at the Ekana.
CAN POORAN FIRE?
Nicholas Pooran’s form is perhaps a bigger concern. The West Indies power-hitter, one of the most natural six-hitters in the league, has managed just 22 runs across three matches this season.
Is Pooran batting out of position? Usually a top-order batter, the left-hander has been slotted in at No. 5, with Pant at No. 3 and young Ayush Badoni at No. 4. LSG are unlikely to alter that order, given Badoni’s form, but if openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram provide a strong start, they may need to show flexibility and push Pooran higher up the order.

LSG’s middle order has been revitalised by the highly rated Mukul Choudhary, a 21-year-old wicketkeeper-batter from Rajasthan, who made headlines with a blistering 27-ball 54 against Kolkata Knight Riders. The home crowd will be eager to see more from the youngster, who has the makings of a crowd-favourite finisher.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans’ batting unit looked far more assured in Delhi last week after two difficult outings at the start of their campaign. Captain Shubman Gill, returning from a neck spasm, appeared in good touch with a 45-ball 70. Questions were raised about his strike rate after Gujarat posted 210 on a favourable batting surface, but their victory overshadowed those concerns.
More importantly, Jos Buttler’s return to form is a significant boost for the Titans. The England wicketkeeper-batter looked in dangerous touch in Delhi, smashing a 27-ball 52, while Washington Sundar eased concerns over a misfiring middle order with a composed fifty. Gujarat will hope players such as Glenn Phillips, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan contribute when required.
Gujarat also have the option of fielding Jason Holder, who was in excellent form with both bat and ball in the T20 World Cup. Whether they opt to include him remains to be seen.
It promises to be another contest between two well-rounded bowling attacks. Mohammed Shami versus Mohammed Siraj will headline the battle, but the supporting cast is equally intriguing. Gujarat have the pace of Ashok Sharma, who can clock 150 kph, while the Super Giants boast Prince Yadav and Avesh Khan, both capable of generating serious pace.
In the spin department, Rashid Khan, who showed glimpses of his vintage self in Delhi, will tilt the balance in Gujarat’s favour. However, LSG could rely on their spin duo of Digvesh Rathi and M Siddharth, who can be effective on their day.

There is no threat of rain in Lucknow on Sunday. Expect a hot afternoon that will test the players’ stamina.
As for the pitch, a fresh strip comprising a mix of red and black soil will be used. In their previous game against Delhi Capitals, a red soil pitch offered pace and bounce for the seamers. The home side will hope this surface better suits their batting strengths.

When will Mayank Yadav return remains a key question. The fastest Indian bowler in the IPL is not currently injured, but LSG appear to be managing the workload of the injury-prone youngster carefully. Despite his absence, they have a settled pace attack.
LSG may hand an immediate opportunity to George Linde, who replaced Wanindu Hasaranga in the squad. Linde, a left-arm spinner and a useful lower-order batter, could strengthen the batting depth, especially with Mohammed Shami currently at No. 8, where other teams often field specialist batters or all-rounders.

In an exclusive chat with Mid-Day, Surbhi gets candid about her struggles and heaps praise on Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
Surbhi Das on transition to web and films
Surbhi gained prominence with her stint in Nima Denzongpa, which highlighted the struggles and racism faced by North-Eastern people. However, she was fortunate that the show didn’t make her a household name, as it made it easier for her to audition for web and films. Surbhi explains, “When you are transitioning from TV to web, it’s a bit tough. People tend to know you by your character names. Once casting directors find out that you’ve been part of a television show, they often hesitate to audition you further. There’s still a typical mindset about TV actors. I feel fortunate that Nima did not become a household name.”

However, the decision to quit TV also came from the feeling that Surbhi’s talent was not getting enough credence. She shared, “While doing Pandya Store, I eventually made the decision that I didn’t want to do TV anymore because I felt my talent was being wasted. I felt my craft wasn’t being used enough, as I was just there giving reactions that meant nothing to me. It became very monotonous after a point, so I decided I will quit TV. I’m not looking down on TV, but I feel it follows the same pattern.”
Commenting on long working hours in TV affecting personal lives, the actress revealed, “When I was working in TV, during one of my shows, I fell so sick that I had to be rushed to a doctor. The production guy even told the doctor to give me an injection so that I could get back to shooting as soon as possible. I was literally sleeping for just 2–3 hours, often on set, usually in the makeup room. I feel that once you’re doing TV, you hardly have any personal life.”
The actress also recalled how she faced rejections in her career because of her complexion.
Surbhi on Ramayana
She is currently in the news as she is also a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, essaying the role of Maa Sita’s sister and Shatrughan’s wife. Revisiting her audition day, Surbhi recalled how, during the time of selection, she was unaware of the cast. “At that time, I couldn’t understand that this project was worth crores. But gradually, I did, and I am excited. I have seen all the people’s reactions and their feedback as well. I am sure the makers are working on it.”
Working on this project was overwhelming for her, as she didn’t know how to exist among stalwarts. Speaking of Ranbir, the actress gushed, “When Ranbir Kapoor came on set, he obviously came as Rama. I literally felt like, ‘My God, this guy is actually looking like Rama.’ In all the scenes we did together, I always felt that he was in character. And even for Sai Pallavi, we know she doesn’t apply much makeup, yet she was looking so pretty.”
Opening up about Ranbir’s hard work and dedication, Surbhi averred, “To play Lord Rama, you need to have that aura and grace. When you walk on set, you need to have that energy about you that makes people look at you no matter what. And Ranbir Kapoor carried that. He had this energy and aura about him. Even when we were not doing a scene, he was in his character, as he is an introverted guy.”
Recalling her interactions with Sai Pallavi, the actress shared, “Our bonding was really good, as we play sisters. I asked her about the South industry, and she answered very sweetly. And when the last day came, she almost got emotional.”

Further talking about his friend and fellow actor, Shepard shared, “Eric Dane, I can now say I met in recovery and we hated each other. I hated him! I thought he was a bit of a bully. And we were in a meeting [and] he threatened a younger member of the group, and this had been simmering for a long time, and I said, ‘Let’s go. Outside. Right now.’ It was on. And we walked outside to a fist fight in the driveway of an AA meeting.”He further recalled that at the time, people in the area had to break them apart before something serious happened. However, neither of them stopped going to the meetings, and over the course of the next 2 years, they both started becoming friends and relating to one another. “I found myself starting to kind of relate to him. I heard his story,” he quipped.

During the AA meetings, the ‘Employee of the Month’ actor revealed that they were both honest about their traumatic upbringing. He revealed what happened to Dane’s father and how both of them grew up without a father figure in their life. “That little boy grew up without a dad, like I grew up without a dad, and he was so in search of masculine validation, and it took all these shapes that I hated. That I’m sure he hated in me,” he added. Shepard had once told the ‘Euphoria’ actor how one of his shares in the meeting was his favourite, and this was followed by a similar comment a few weeks later. He provided context, adding, “Maybe a week or two later, one of his shares, he said, ‘I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but I think I’ve come to fall in love with Dax.’ And then we became friends.”Eric Dane earlier revealed that he had been diagnosed with ALS in April last year. He had shared that more than a year ago, he had started showing symptoms, after which he got the diagnosis just recently. Dane passed away in February this year. He was 53 at the time of his passing.
Kusal Mendis was in an awkward position after a journalist asked him if he regretted leaving the Pakistan Super League in 2025 for the Indian Premier League’sGujarat Titans. Everyone had a funny line and comic timing down to the beat, but Dibyendu Bhattacharya’s character had to keep a straight face. So, while he was excited about joining Maamla Legal Hai 2, he was unsure how audiences would perceive his serious turn in Netflix’s madcap comedy. “I didn’t understand how people would take this character because everybody is doing comedy except me. But now, I [feel] people have liked my character a lot. They didn’t expect such a twist,” says the actor, who plays a newly-appointed judge in the Patparganj district court.
Alia Bhatt and Sharvari
For Bhattacharya, the role may not have been big, but its layers made it tempting. “It was tough because I had to be precise as there is a certain dignity and sanctity attached to the position of a judge. [My character] also had to balance between how much to tell and not. The character was written in a way that you can’t tell whether he is positive or negative. I couldn’t project a lot in this performance because he shouldn’t be seen. If you see him, you will find out that something is fishy.”
The actor’s calendar is packed this year. In July, he will be seen in Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, and directed by Aditya Rawal. Bhattacharya, who plays a key role in the upcoming instalment of the YRF Spy Universe, has previously worked with Rawal on The Railway Men (2023).
While the actor refuses to divulge details about Alpha, he says, “It was a fantastic shooting for Alpha. Aditya is a young director. He is dedicated and passionate. He leaves no stone unturned to achieve what he wants. The film boasts of good actors and technicians,” he says, adding that he also enjoyed sharing screen space with Bhatt. “She is a good actor. It was during Poacher’s [2024] promotions that I met her for the first time.”

Sanju Samson returned to form in style, smashing a brilliant unbeaten 115 and with Jamie Overton’s 4 wicket-haul Chennai Super Kings register their first win of IPL 2026 on Saturday evening in Chepauk, defeating Delhi Capitals by 23 runs. After a few quiet games, Samson led from the front, while the bowlers, led by Jamie Overton, sealed the win with a strong performance. Asked to bat first after losing the toss, CSK posted a solid 212/2, thanks largely to a 113-run partnership between Samson and Ayush Mhatre, who scored a quick 59.While Mhatre impressed with his strokeplay, Samson anchored the innings and accelerated at the right moments, bringing up his century in 52 balls. It was his fourth IPL hundred and first for CSK. Even a dropped catch on 55 didn’t stop him, as he made Delhi pay with a commanding knock. Samson looked much more confident compared to earlier matches, timing the ball cleanly and playing shots all around the ground. His innings was filled with elegant boundaries and big hits, including a standout six over extra cover.Mhatre, meanwhile, showed great promise before being retired out to allow a late push from Shivam Dube. After going places to can his next, The Peasant, actor, writer, and director Dev Patel and his crew are now in Manali to shoot a large-scale action sequence in the hills. The film went on floors in December 2025 and has been shot across Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai, and Rajasthan, before moving to Manali a week ago.
This portion of the film hinges on a physically demanding set piece that plays out across uneven, mountainous terrain. “They’ve been rehearsing it like movement through space, running, and chasing. The idea is [to make the audience] feel the exhaustion of it,” shares a source close to the production. Those familiar with the schedule say the Manali portion has been among the tougher legs of the shoot so far.

Unlike the usually heavily stylised action sequences, this scene is being built with practical movement, where the terrain does the heavy lifting. The source tells mid-day that the crew has been shooting in tighter pockets around Manali, which has kept things relatively low-key despite the scale. There’s also been a noticeable presence of stunt coordinators on location. “They will shoot there for about 10 days in total and have one last leg in Mumbai before wrapping up,” adds the source.
