iQOO 13 is set to launch in China on October 30. So far, the company has teased the phone’s design and colour options. Details regarding the display have also been confirmed. iQOO has also revealed that the AnTuTu benchmark numbers for the device. It is confirmed to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC paired with an in-house Q2 gaming chipset. The battery and charging details of the phone have been revealed as well. Now, a tipster has suggested the expected price of the smartphone and hinted at additional features.

iQOO 13 Price (Expected)

The iQOO 13 price will start at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 47,200) for the 12GB + 256GB option, according to a now-edited Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station. An older claim by the same tipster suggested that the iQOO 13 would be more expensive than the preceding iQOO 12. However, the new leak suggests that the expected price of the upcoming handset will be the same as the launch price of iQOO 12.

iQOO 13 Features (Expected)

In another Weibo post, the tipster suggests that the iQOO 13 will sport a 6.78-inch screen and come with support for a 100W PPS+ direct drive power supply. The phone is also tipped to support LPDDR5X RAM and a 1016H super large motor.

Previously, the company has revealed that the iQOO 13 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC paired with a Q2 gaming chipset. It will be backed by a 6,150mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging.

The phone will carry a Q10 8T LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, 1,800nits of HBM brightness, 510ppi pixel density and HDR10+ support. The screen for the phone has been co-developed with BOE. 

iQOO 13’s display will come with TÜV Rheinland certification as well. The handset will be available in four colour options — black, green, grey, and white. Notably, the phone is also confirmed to launch in India soon, but a date is yet to be announced.

The verdict follows a $303 million verdict against Samsung for Irvine, California-based Netlist in a related case last year.

Netlist also won $445 million from chipmaker Micron in May in a separate lawsuit over some of the same patents.

Spokespeople for Samsung and Netlist did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the Friday verdict. The jury also determined that Samsung’s infringement was willful, which could lead to a judge increasing the award by up to three times.

Netlist sued Samsung in 2022, alleging that the Korean tech giant’s memory modules used in cloud computing servers and other data-intensive technology infringed its patents. Netlist said its innovations increase the power efficiency of memory modules and enable users to “derive useful information from vast amounts of data in a shorter period.”

Samsung denied the allegations, arguing that the patents were invalid and that its technology worked differently than Netlist’s inventions.

Samsung has also filed a related lawsuit in Delaware federal court accusing Netlist of breaking an obligation to offer fair licenses for technology required to comply with international standards.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is prepping for its October 5 launch and ahead of that, Ubisoft has dropped system requirements for the same. Unlike the norm with AAA PC games these days, this ninth-century Baghdad-set title appears to be rather forgiving on hardware, essentially going back an entire graphics generation. Running the game on Ultra settings does not require AMD’s latest 7000 or Nvidia’s 40 series cards. That said, the accompanying ‘PC Features’ trailer shows Intel as its official partner, assuring that it’s been optimised for the Arc GPUs and the respective 13th-Gen processors. This feels like a weird choice since it’s not a really popular graphics card in the PC gaming community.

Naturally, the collaboration brings support for Intel’s AI-powered XeSS upscaling method, which grants higher framerates without sacrificing too much on the visual fidelity department. No other upscaling techs were mentioned in the trailer, but the official blog post details that players will be able to leverage Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR to maximise their experience. Assassin’s Creed Mirage also boasts uncapped frames at 4K resolution — a bold claim when you consider how poorly optimised recent PC ports have been. Other notable features include support for wide screen and multi-monitor displays, an in-game benchmark for gauging performance, and hybrid input that lets you simultaneously use a keyboard, mouse, controller, ‘or other inputs.’

Assassin’s Creed Mirage PC system requirements

The PC system requirements list comes courtesy of Ubisoft, with the common conditions being Windows 10 64-bit and at least 40GB of free storage space on an SSD. While Assassin’s Creed Mirage isn’t necessarily dropping on Steam, it’s worth referring to the platform’s monthly hardware survey to get a good indication of the low-end PC gamer’s setup. And seeing Nvidia’s GTX 1650 on there, we can safely assume that most players meet the requirement.

After spending years dabbling in the open-world RPG setting, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going back to its roots, tighter in scope and focused on crafty stealth assassinations. You assume the role of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a side character from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, who climbs the ranks of the Hidden Ones’ order, growing from a mere pickpocket to a feared assassin. Accordingly, the game is cheaper, costing $49.99/ Rs. 2,499 on PC and Rs. 3,499 on console. Pre-orders grant access to a bonus quest called ‘The Forty Thieves,’ which I’m guessing is a reference to the classic Arabian folktale ‘Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.’ One could also play it on Ubisoft’s gaming subscription service Ubisoft+ on day one.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is out October 5 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. An Apple iOS release is also planned for early 2024.
