Honor 300 Pro will likely be launched alongside the vanilla Honor 300 soon. The Chinese smartphone maker has not yet confirmed the launch date, but some details of the lineup have been leaked online. Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) posted alleged details of the Honor 300 series on Weibo. As per the leak, the upcoming lineup will feature 1.5K OLED screens, which is a nice improvement compared to the full HD+ screens in the previous models. They could run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The tipster has not explicitly stated which model will use this chipset but the Pro model is expected to carry it. To recall, the Honor 200 has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC under the hood, while the Honor 200 Pro boasts a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC.
Like its predecessors, the Honor 300 series is tipped to offer 100W wired charging and wireless charging support. The Pro variant could pack a 50-megapixel periscope sensor as well. The tipster says the presence of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner has not been confirmed yet.
The Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro were unveiled in China in May this year. They were launched in India in July with an initial price tag of Rs. 34,999 for the Honor 200 and Rs. 57,999 for the Honor 200 Pro.
They boast 50-megapixel triple rear cameras and 50-megapixel selfie shooters. They run on Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0. They are armed with a 5,200mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging. The Honor 200 has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ OLED curved display, while the Honor 200 Pro features a slightly larger 6.78-inch screen. The vanilla model runs on Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, while the Pro variant has a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.

Apple could launch its refreshed lineup of Mac models in November, according to a report. The new devices are speculated to be powered by the next-generation Apple Silicon chipset dubbed M4, which debuted with the new iPad Pro models on May 7. The Cupertino-based tech giant has been reported to introduce new variants of its iMac, MacBook Pro, and other models. While it usually holds Mac-related events in October around Halloween, it may shift to November this year.
This information comes from MacRumors, citing confidential sources, which reported about the probable November 2024 launch timeline of the upcoming Mac models.
Apple November Event Expectations
MacBook Pro, starting with the entry-level 14-inch model, is expected to get its yearly refresh. It is speculated to get upgraded from an M3 chipset to the M4, which is expected to bring benefits when it comes to artificial intelligence (AI) tasks. Meanwhile, the mid-tier and high-end MacBook Pro models will reportedly benefit from the purported M4 Pro and M4 Max SoCs, respectively.
MacRumors suggested that all the changes are expected to be hardware-related only, with minimal design overhaul.
However, that is not going to be the case for the Mac mini, as per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Apple will reportedly introduce a heavily redesigned version of its mini-computer which is said to be its “smallest ever desktop computer”. It may be slightly taller than the Apple TV streaming device and is described as “essentially an iPad Pro in a small box”.
As per Gurman, there will be two variants of the Mac mini, continuing previous trends. It may be offered with M4 and M4 Pro chips.
Chipset upgrades are also reported to be introduced with the 2024 iMac. However, similar to the MacBook Pro, Apple’s all-in-one computer is also not expected to get any notable changes to its design, but its colourways could be revised.
With these devices getting a chipset upgrade, Apple is expected to complete its transition to M4 chipsets across its entire range of devices including iPad, Mac, and MacBook.
SpaceX’sFalcon 9 rocket has successfully launched the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) GSAT-20, a sophisticated communication satellite, on November 19. The mission took place at 12:01 am from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The satellite, weighing 4,700kg, was deployed into geosynchronous transfer orbit after a 34-minute flight. This was the Elon Musk-headed company’s first launch of an ISRO satellite, conducted through NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), ISRO’s commercial arm.
Satellite Details and Objectives
The GSAT-20 satellite, also referred to as GSAT-N2, has been designed to enhance India’s communication infrastructure. Equipped with a Ka-band high-throughput communications payload, the satellite offers a capacity of 48 Gbps. Its 32 user beams include eight narrow beams for India’s northeastern region and 24 wide beams covering the rest of the country. The beams are supported by ground hub stations within mainland India.
The satellite also features advanced Ka-Ka band transponders, facilitating reliable internet services in remote areas such as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. It will cater to inflight and maritime communication needs, ensuring broader connectivity across the nation. The satellite has a mission lifespan of 14 years.
Choice of SpaceX for the Launch
ISRO’s reliance on SpaceX for the GSAT-20 launch was driven by specific logistical challenges. The satellite’s weight has exceeded the capacity of India’s heaviest launch vehicle, the LVM-3, which supports payloads of up to 4,000 kg in geosynchronous transfer orbit. Alternatives such as Arianespace were unavailable due to the non-operational status of its rockets. Geopolitical issues ruled out Russian options.
The Falcon 9 rocket’s first-stage booster completed its 19th flight, landing on the droneship Just Read the Instructions approximately eight and a half minutes after liftoff.
Launch Costs and Historical Significance
Reports estimate the cost of the launch between $60 million and $70 million. This mission marked ISRO’s first satellite launch exclusively using the Ka-band frequency. Microsoft introduced an AI-powered feature called Advanced Paste on Windows with PowerToys at its Build 2024 conference on Tuesday (May 22). It opens up new options for pasting content from the clipboard in several formats including plain text, markdown, and JSON. Furthermore, those with OpenAI‘s API credits get access to more features such as text summarisation, code generation, and more. It is just one of the AI-powered enhancements that the Mountain View-based tech giant showcased at its developer conference.
According to a Microsoft Learn blog, the Advanced Paste feature is available in PowerToys version 0.81.0 and can be accessed with the Windows Key + Shift + V shortcut. This brings up the Advanced Paste window where users can select between 3 options for pasting from the clipboard – Plain text, JSON, and markdown, all of which can be used with a quick key shortcut.
1. Paste as plain text – It copies and pastes the text from the clipboard without any formatting.
2. Paste as JSON – Using this option updates the text copied from the clipboard to JSON formatting.
3. Paste as markdown – It changes the text copied from the clipboard and replaces it with a markdown-formatted version of the text.

Furthermore, Microsoft introduced a ‘Paste with AI’ option that leverages OpenAI’s AI technology to offer even more advanced paste functions. Users can provide a prompt, following which the text is analysed and modified to match the provided context. To access it, users are required to tie their OpenAI accounts to PowerToys to enable an API key and have enough credits in their accounts. The list of functions include summarising text, translating text, generating code, transforming text, and stylising text.
Accessing the Advanced Paste option can be customised through Settings. Users can toggle the ‘Paste with AI’ option, enable custom format preview, turn on clipboard history, and set customisable keyboard commands for the paste shortcuts. Microsoft says the quality of the text generated with the ‘Paste with AI’ option depends on the “quality of the input provided”. It recommends users provide more context for the AI model to understand the prompt better and respond to requests.

OnePlus 12R was launched in India in January this year with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. It runs on Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 out-of-the-box. The company has now released the stable version of the Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 update with new features and fixes to OnePlus 12R users. Recently, OnePlus 12 users started receiving the stable OxygenOS 15 update as well. Notably, the OnePlus 12R was unveiled alongside the flagship OnePlus 12 handset.
OnePlus 12R Android 15-Based OxygenOS 15 Update
OnePlus confirmed in a community post, that the stable Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 is rolling out for OnePlus 12R users in India, European Union, North America as well as other global regions. The 3.54GB over-the-air (OTA) update carries the software version CPH2585_15.0.0.200(EX01) for Indian users. The company says that the update is rolling out in batches, so if you have not yet received the same, you may get it soon.
Among the changes that the OnePlus 12R OxygenOS 15 update brings is smoother animations. According to the company, the rendering and animation performance is powered by a graphics engine which uses parallel processing to deliver lag-free visuals, especially while multi-tasking and running heavy applications. Parallel processing is said to offer smoother widgets, components, and folder transitions as well. The swipe consistency is said to be improved even with third-party apps, including WebView interfaces.
The OxygenOS 15 update for the OnePlus 12R comes with a refreshed Home screen with redesigned icons, including fine-tuning the rounded corner design of the icons. The OnePlus OneTake feature allows users to customise properties for the Always-On Display, Lock screen, and Home screen. The Always-On Display can support classic and flux (seamless, fluid animations) modes, while the “Lock screen supports clock colour blending, glass textures, blurred wallpapers, AI depth effects, AI auto-fills, and more.” The Home screen supports glass patterns, blurred wallpapers, and other elements.
The stable version of the OnePlus 12R OxygenOS 15 comes with an updated Fluid Cloud which is said to optimise app compatibility. Users can now capture Live photos with up to 3 seconds playback and access reversible photo editing features that save previous versions of the edit. The update offers enhanced Camera and filter integration as well.
New Floating Window gestures have been introduced with the OnePlus 12R OxygenOS 15 update alongside resizable Split View windows. To open a floating window, users can swipe down on a notification banner and swipe down again to enlarge it. Swiping up will close the window while swiping sideways will hide it. The Split View windows can be resized by dragging the divider or by tapping to expand the display area.
OnePlus Share now allows OnePlus 12R users with the OxygenOS 15 update to share files with iOS devices. The Quick Settings feature is said to have been visually improved as well. With the Split mode, users can access the notification drawer with a top-left swipe and the Quick Settings with a top-right swipe.
The latest OxygenOS 15 update for the OnePlus 12R introduces a “Charging limit” feature which stops charging at 80 percent which is said to help extend battery life and minimise degradation. The company says the safety and privacy features have been improved as well. There are other smaller improvements that this update brings, which are detailed in the community post linked above.

The company said the special edition laptops were being launched keeping college students in mind, and are said to offer high performance and gaming capabilities. HP Victus Special Edition Specifications
HP Victus Special Edition laptop is essentially a repackaged version of the HP Victus 16. It features a 15.6-inch full-HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Indian news agency ANI has sued OpenAI in a New Delhi court, accusing the ChatGPT creator of using its published content without permission to help train the artificial intelligence chatbot, something that OpenAI says it has stopped doing.
ANI is the latest news organisation globally to take OpenAI to court following lawsuits in the US by newspapers including the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune.
The first hearing in the case took place in a New Delhi High Court on Tuesday, where the judge issued a notice to OpenAI to provide a detailed response to ANI’s accusations.
ANI did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment.
ANI also accused OpenAI’s services of attributing fabricated news stories to the publication, according to its court submission dated Monday, a copy of which was reviewed by Reuters.
The court filing contained emails sent by OpenAI’s lawyers in India to ANI saying the Indian news agency’s website had been placed on an internal block list since September, ceasing usage of its content in future training of AI models.
ANI, however, argues that its published works are “permanently stored in the memory of ChatGPT” and “there is no programmed deletion”.
Asked about the ANI lawsuit, a spokesperson for OpenAI said in a statement: “We build our AI models using publicly available data, in a manner protected by fair use and related principles, and supported by long-standing and widely accepted legal precedents”.
OpenAI and other tech companies have faced a wave of lawsuits by authors, visual artists, music publishers and other copyright owners for allegedly exploiting their work without permission. OpenAI has denied copyright infringement.
ANI in its filing said that OpenAI had “refused to obtain a lawful license or permission” for the use of original works by ANI. The AI firm has entered into licensing arrangements with news organisations such as the Financial Times and Associated Press for similar use of copyrighted content, it said.
Reuters has a minority stake in ANI and has been asked to comment on the story.
In its statement, OpenAI said that it was engaged in partnerships with many news organisations around the world and was holding talks to explore more such opportunities, including in India.
The court is set to next hear the case on January 28.
Truecaller is collaborating with Microsoft to significantly upgrade its existing artificial intelligence (AI)-powered AI Assistant. As a part of this partnership, the caller identification app will leverage the Microsoft Azure AI Speech feature called Personal Voice. This will be integrated with the AI Assistant to give it a replica voice of the user when the AI screens a call or responds on behalf of the user. The feature is being rolled out starting today, and it will be available in a select few countries at first. The company has confirmed the feature will be expanded to more countries soon.
Making the announcement via a community post, Truecaller said, “With the addition of Microsoft’s Personal Voice, users of the Truecaller Assistant can now create a completely digital version of their own voice to use inside the Assistant.” Notably, the AI Assistant was first introduced by the company in September 2022. The voice-based chatbot offers multiple functionalities such as screening calls, responding to calls, and even taking messages on behalf of the user. It can also record calls that can be listened to later, similar to a voicemail.
While this is a useful feature, Truecaller also offered a limited number of voices that could be used by the AI Assistant. With this, when someone calls, they would hear one of these chosen voices before the call is picked by the user. However, hearing a stranger’s voice had the possibility of catching the caller off-guard. The app maker is solving this issue by introducing Personal Voice which will let people use their own voice for the AI Assistant.
This feature has started rolling out to Truecaller Premium users in the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, India, Sweden, and Chile. It will be expanded to other regions soon, the company stated.
How to set up Personal Voice in AI Assistant
One thing to note is that the feature is only available on Truecaller Premium. If you want to use it, you’ll have to purchase the subscription.
To see the feature, you need to be on the latest version of the app. Ensure to update it.
Once done, open the app and go to Settings.
Go to Assistant settings.
Go to Set Up Personal Voice and follow the instructions.
You will have to record your voice for about a minute and speak out the words shown on the screen, after which your AI-generated voice replication process will be complete.
Al Jazeera takes a look at five things you need to know about Amorim before his debut:
1. The new ‘Special One’?
The latest Portuguese managing sensation to be dubbed “the new Mourinho” – after former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho – Amorim arrives with quite the reputation as a coach even in his fledgling career.
Amorim established himself as one of the most sought-after young coaches in world football at Sporting Lisbon, but his challenge in Manchester is of a different magnitude.
The coach, who won two league titles at Sporting, follows the path from Portugal to the Premier League taken a generation ago by Mourinho, then the shining young managerial star, who swapped Porto for Chelsea while naming himself the “Special One”. Amorim will, however, be expected to do something that even Mourinho did not manage during his subsequent stint at United – win the club’s first Premier League title since the trophy-filled days of Alex Ferguson ended in 2013.
Amorim has described Mourinho as a role model. He spent a short internship with his compatriot when Mourinho was managing United from 2016 to 2018. He arrives at Old Trafford two years younger than Mourinho was when he took over a Chelsea side that won two Premier League titles in his first two seasons at the helm.
Other coaches have come from Portugal with big reputations, but not all have succeeded. Andre Villas-Boas failed to live up to expectations after swapping Porto for Chelsea in 2011. He too was burdened with the same nickname as Mourinho gave himself.
But everything about Amorim, who was also linked to the manager’s job at Liverpool this year, suggests he could be something special.

2. The Amorim effect as a manager
Amorim started his managerial career in 2018 with a short stint at the Lisbon club Casa Pia, then in the Portuguese third tier. He was appointed reserve team manager at Braga the following year and just three months later was promoted to first team boss.
Eye-catching success at the top-flight club, including a shock League Cup final win over Porto, was enough to convince Sporting to pay his release clause in 2020, and he delivered immediately, leading the Lisbon club to their first Primeira Liga title in 19 years in his first full season with the loss of just one game. He also won the League Cup, defeating his former club Braga in the final.
The club reached the Champions League last 16 the following season and the Europa League quarterfinals in the 2022-2023 campaign. He won a second Portuguese title last season to further burnish his reputation.
He leaves Sporting sitting top of the league and second in the Champions League after thumping Manchester City 4-1 in Amorim’s last home game as coach.
A dramatic fightback from two goals down, reminiscent of the United of old, was staged in his final Primeira Liga match as a 4-2 win was secured at Braga – maintaining Sporting’s 100 percent record for the season.

3. Amorim’s journey as a player
Born in Lisbon, Amorim was a hard-working midfielder who spent the bulk of his playing career at Benfica, where he won a domestic treble in 2013-2014.
He won 14 caps for Portugal, appearing at two World Cups, but ended his playing days at the age of 32 after a loan spell in Qatar with Al-Wakrah.
He also enjoyed a loan spell with Braga during his formative years at Benfica, who he joined in 2009 and would go on to win three league titles with.
The pinnacle of his playing career, having been a Portuguese youth international at all age levels from under-18s in 2003, was undoubtedly his appearances at the World Cups in South Africa in 2010 and 2014.
Although mostly a squad player for his international career, which spanned more than five years, Amorim gained crucial experience as part of the set-up – and lined up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo throughout his own Portugal days. But more on that in a moment.

4. Amorim will do it his way – starting with three at the back
The Portuguese coach must hit the ground running with United struggling in the English top flight after just three wins in their opening nine games this season and sitting 14th in the table.
United spent about 757 million pounds ($955m) on new players for ten Hag, who led them to one FA Cup and one League Cup. These are luxuries that Amorim will not enjoy in the short term as January’s transfer window will come too soon for the new manager to seal any sizeable signings. Few happen midseason anyway.
Instead, it will be Amorim’s approach on the field that will be of most interest. There is little secret that he prefers a three-man defence with two wingbacks, two central midfielders and then two forwards supporting the striker.
United’s current squad makeup does not lean towards these positions, particularly in attack, where wingers have been the order of the day for United since the days of George Best through to Ronaldo.
One player that may enjoy a revival under Amorim, though, is his former teammate at Benfica, Victor Lindelof. (The pair also played alongside former United midfielder Nemanja Matic in that time.) The Swedish defender has failed to nail down a starting position in his time at Old Trafford but favours playing as part of a back three.
Whether this will be the approach from the off at Portman Road on Sunday remains to be seen – as does how the likes of crowd favourites on the flanks, including Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo, will fit into the new manager’s style.
Whatever happens, a huge challenge lies in wait at a club that has underperformed under multiple managers, but if Amorim succeeds, he will lift himself onto a different plane – and he will undoubtedly have done it his way.

5. Amorim is only one week older than United legend Cristiano Ronaldo
One of the greatest challenges, as everyone agrees, is that Amorim must learn on the job.
Born on January 27, 1985, the United manager is only a week older than Ronaldo, who is still going strong as a player for club and country.
Indeed, Amorim is only two years (and three weeks) older than Jonny Evans, who has been playing a pivotal role in central defence since his return to United last season. It will be his senior players that Amorim will rely on most heavily and in particular his three 30-plus central midfielders: Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.
It was Amorim’s own position on the park, and it is there that his fellow countryman and club captain Fernandes has been United’s shining light in recent years. The mercurial midfielder is still joined in the Portugal starting lineup by Ronaldo, who has called for a bottom-up rebuild of his former club.
It may be with the hands of Ronaldo’s fellow Portuguese pairing that the foundations of recovery are laid.

Android 15 was released globally in August and since then, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme have introduced their iterations of the new operating system (OS) for their smartphones and other devices. The update is said to bring support for true adaptive refresh rate (ARR) which leverages discrete VSync steps to adapt to the frame rate of the on-screen content without changing the current display mode.
Adaptive Refresh Rate on Android 15
Support for ARR has existed since Android 11 but it used a method known as refresh rate switching which essentially switched the display between different modes depending on the content and its requirements. Devices could switch between 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz or 144Hz, based on the display type. However, Android 15 brings a true ARR experience by allowing the system to adjust the refresh rate within one mode instead of using a fixed cadence.
According to Android (via Android Authority), displays that support ARR can decouple the VSync rate and refresh rate based on the cadence of the content update. ARR on Android 15 brings two benefits: reduced power consumption and less jank.
With this capability, devices usually operate at lower refresh rates and transition to higher rates only when essential. This is said to result in reduced power consumption. Furthermore, ARR also eliminates the need for switching between modes, reducing jank — an effect that usually appears when the content isn’t synced with the device’s refresh rate.
Android says OEMs can implement ARR based on their preferred power trade-offs. The OS is claimed to support ARR with the new Hardware Composer (HWC) HAL APIs and platform changes. To enable it, device makers must support kernel and system changes on devices running Android 15 and later, as well as implement version three of android.hardware.graphics.composer3 APIs. However, screens which do not support the technology will still use the active display mode’s fixed cadence to adjust the refresh rate.
