Washington: Comedian and former Tonight Show host Jay Leno is currently recovering from a fall that left him with facial injuries and an eye patch.
The 74-year-old shared details about the incident with TMZ on Monday, November 18, and explained how the accident took place over the weekend.
Leno was staying at a hotel atop a hill and attempted to walk to a nearby restaurant without a car.
“To get to it, I didn’t have a car, so you had to walk about a mile and a half around. I said, ‘Well, the hill doesn’t look that steep. It’s about 60-70 feet. Let me see if I can go down the hill,” Leno said.
“I fell down. Boom, boom, boom. I rolled down the hill, hit my head on a rock, knocked me in the eye,” he added.
Despite his injuries, Leno performed a show just a few hours later at Yaamava’ Casino in Southern California and delayed seeking medical attention until he returned to Los Angeles.
“The great thing about this age [is] you don’t learn by your mistakes, you just keep doing the same stupid thing,” the comedian shared.
This is not the first time Leno has faced a serious injury.
In November 2022, he suffered second- and third-degree burns on his face, chest, and hands during a garage fire caused by a gasoline blaze. After receiving treatment at the Grossman Burn Center, Leno made a full recovery and returned to work within weeks.
Federal prosecutors temporarily cannot use a notebook seized from Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ jail cell, which allegedly includes incriminating notes related to his ongoing legal battles.

On Tuesday, US District Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that the Manhattan US Attorney’s Office must delete photos of the 19-page notebook obtained during a raid on Combs’ jail cell last month. Prosecutors are also barred from using the material during Combs’ upcoming bond hearing on Friday.
The music mogul, facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, has pleaded not guilty. He also faces numerous civil suits filed in recent months.
The notebook, labelled “things to do,” reportedly includes notes about paying off potential witnesses and digging up damaging information on two alleged victims. Prosecutors have suggested this evidence could support additional charges of obstruction of justice against the artist.
Combs’ legal team called Feds conduct ‘outrageous’
Prosecutor Mary Slavik defended the seizure, stating, “The government received these materials in the completely appropriate channels.” She argued that Combs’ notes, which included unidentified “inspirational quotes” alongside plans to target witnesses, fell outside attorney-client privilege protections.
Combs’ legal team, however, strongly contested the government’s actions as “outrageous”. Marc Agnifilo, one of Combs’ attorneys, accused federal authorities of overreach. “This has been a complete institutional failure,” Agnifilo said, arguing that the raid and seizure violated attorney-client privilege.
Judge Subramanian has ordered the notebook to remain secured for now while he deliberates whether prosecutors may use it to build an obstruction case.
Combs, 55, was arrested in September and has since been held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. His legal team has repeatedly sought his release on bail, proposing $50 million as a condition. His next bail hearing is set for Friday.

Not surprising then that the 46th edition of Festival des 3 Continents, which is underway in Nantes, France, is paying a tribute to the senior actor with a retrospective of her films. Beginning from November 19 to 22, the prestigious festival will screen Ankur (1974), Arth (1982), Mandi (1983), and Masoom (1983).

Hours before the tribute began on Tuesday, as mid-day contacted Azmi, she said that she formed a deep connection with the French audience from her early days. “Right from the start, there has been a connection, beginning with Shyam Benegal’s Ankur. [The bond] strengthened with Satyajit Ray’s Shatranj Ke Khilari [1977]. The Nantes Film Festival is one of cine artistes and a receptive audience,” said the actor, 74, recalling that Godmother [1999] was the opening movie of the film gala in 1998. “I remember being greeted with a thunderous applause when I had introduced Vinay Shukla’s [director] Godmother.”

Rakesh to re-release older films
As Rakesh Roshan steps down from directing duties, he’ll keep busy as a producer. He will re-release some of his iconic movies – starting with his 1995 blockbuster reincarnation saga Karan Arjun this Friday on November 22. “Every film might not work. But surely, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai is also going to complete 25 years in January (2025). This (Karan Arjun) was also in January, but I couldn’t clash the two films together so I pre-poned this release. And there are many films releasing in January,” added Rakesh in the above interview. He also plans to re-release his 1988 revenge saga Khoon Bhari Maang, starring Rekha and Kabir Bedi.

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh finally announced the dates for his show in Mumbai as a part of the `Dil-Luminati` Tour. Diljit had announced the India leg of his world tour in September. The original list of cities included only Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Indore, Chandigarh, and Guwahati. Diljit Dosanjh served legal notice for songs on alcohol
Recently, Diljit performed in Hyderabad where he received a legal notice from the Telangana government, asking him not to sing songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence. The notice, issued just hours before his performance cited a complaint from a Chandigarh resident who claimed that Dosanjh had performed songs promoting alcohol and violence at a previous concert.
Reacting to the same, Diljit shared a video where he called out all the states for not doing enough to stop liquor sales since it is a huge “revenue” generator. He also stated that he would stop making songs on alcohol if the government declared a nationwide ban on it.
On the acting front, Diljit is all set to star in the upcoming movie `Border 2`, where he will be seen alongside Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan. The film, based on the historic Battle of Longewala, is set to begin shooting in November.
