It looks like the bad days for Asit Modi’s `Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah` are not over yet. Another bad news from the sets of TMKOC suggests that recently Asit Kumar Modi and Dilip Joshi, known for playing the role of Jethalal Champaklal Gada, had a major argument that escalated to the point where Joshi threatened Modi that he would leave the show. The argument reportedly stemmed from Dilip Joshi’s demand for a few days off. This incident allegedly took place in early August and was seemingly Kush Shah’s last day on the sets of TMKOC.  

Asit Kumar Modi and Dilip Joshi`s major fight

`News18`, in their report, shared that Dilip Joshi had reached out to Asit regarding a few days off, but Asit seemingly avoided the conversation. This offended Joshi, who almost had a physical altercation with Asit Modi. The news portal quoted a source saying, “It was the last day of Kush Shah’s shoot. Dilip ji was waiting for Asit bhai to come and talk to him about his leaves. But when Asit bhai came, he directly went to meet Kush. This disappointed Dilip ji.”  

The insider further added, “Dilip ji got very angry, and the two got into a heated argument. Dilip ji even held Asit Modi’s collar and threatened to leave the show. However, Asit bhai calmed him down. We don’t know how the two sorted their differences.”  

The insider also revealed that it is not the first time Dilip Joshi and Asit Kumar Modi had an altercation on the sets. The two often get into heated arguments. It was also said that even during the time when the cast of TMKOC went to Hong Kong for a special shoot, a massive fight erupted between the two, but Gurucharan Singh Sodhi helped them resolve their differences.  

`Recent Exits from the Show`

Recently, Palak Sindhwani, aka Sonu Bhide, has quit the show. Her exit is not due to personal reasons, but she has accused the makers of emotionally blackmailing her and threatening her with consequences.  

Earlier, it was Kush Shah, who played the role of Goli in the long-running TV show `Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah`, who quit. Kush Shah portrayed Goli for nearly two decades. This news made everyone emotional as their favorite co-star bid them adieu. Kush Shah has left the show to pursue higher education in the USA.

How Saqib Saleem came on board to play Agent KD 

Saqib Saleem recalls the first time he spoke to Raj and DK when they offered him the role of Agent KD. “The only question I asked them was, ‘Why me?’. Raj sir looked at me and said, ‘Because nobody`s thought of you like that’. I was given a very good written part and I just poured my heart into it.” 

Elaborating on his character, Saqib explained, “People call it the antagonist, the anti-hero, but I`d like to say that in my head, KD was his hero. He had reasons to do what he was doing. Why and who he was killing, and it was all motivated out of love. I`m just overwhelmed and very humbled and grateful for all the love that`s coming my way. We all work for love, don`t we? We all want validation from people. And I`m at that stage right now where maybe I needed this burst of energy.”

Saqib Saleem on shaving his head for ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’

While Saqib had his reservations to shave his head for the role, he went ahead with it, which eventually paid off. The actor recalled, “When I had gone and met them (Raj and DK) I had given them this idea that I think I should shave off my head and they jumped at it. I felt like they would have also wanted that though they never communicated it with me. But when it came to cutting my hair, I was very nervous because I`m the only male member in my family who has hair left now. Everybody else is bald (laughs).”

Saqib Saleem on reports of a rift with the makers

Saqib’s absence at the trailer led many to believe he was miffed with the makers. Sharing his stance on the same, he asserts, “There was a narrative that the makers wanted to give out and that narrative concealed the impact of my character. So, my being there would have been detrimental to that narrative.”

“I always believe that it`s very important for your work to come out and then you talk to people. Usually hum release se pehle prachar karte hain aur release hote hi holiday pe chale jate hain. I want to change that a little. I feel like it`s better conversation post-release,” the actor concludes. 

Actor Nicole Kidman will receive a special honour at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Nicole is set to be honoured with the International Star Award on January 3 at the festival, which will run from January 2 to January 13.

On felicitating Nicole, Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said, “Nicole Kidman once again showcases her unmatched talent for embracing bold and unexpected roles with remarkable ease. In Babygirl, she portrays a high-powered CEO whose life begins to unravel as she embarks on a dark, risky affair that threatens to shatter her carefully constructed world. Nicole Kidman earlier received the International Star Award for Lion, for which she also received a best actress Oscar nomination. Past recipients of the award include Carey Mulligan, Michelle Yeoh, Penelope Cruz, Helen Mirren, Saoirse Ronan and Charlize Theron. Yeoh went on to receive the best actress Oscar the same year she received PSIFF`s recognition, while Mulligan, Cruz and Ronan were nominated.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan attended a session at the Global Freight Summit in Dubai on Tuesday. During his session, the superstar spoke about his journey in the film industry, his success and failures. During the conversation, he spoke about the success he achieved in the 90s that eventually made him the King of Bollywood. 

`My success came in the 90s when there was a lot of opening up of our country, India. We were going all around the world and talking about India and the kind of cinema I did (proceeds to sing Tujhe Dekha To)”. 

“….So everyone liked it (Dilwale Dulhania le Jaayenge). Some of the audience got married watching this film. It was moments of happiness, love and Switzerland. It was a sign of times. I think you need to recognize that for your part,” he added. 

I am not larger than life: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is not just a name but a brand today. However, the superstar who commands global stardom does not believe he is larger-than-life. “I just work for that myth. I am not that myth. I am not larger-than-life. I need to work hard to maintain the larger-than-life image. I think that is one thing I have thought of building. I am very clear that I work for the myth that Shah Rukh Khan is. I am an employee of this myth I am not the owner of this myth,” he said.

SRK`s advice to his younger self 

Khan was in his 20s when he broke into the movie scene. During the session when he was asked what advice he would give to his younger self, he gave a witty yet thought-provoking response. “To be honest, I would not advise my younger self. I have a son who is 27, a daughter who is 23 and a half, and another son who is 11. So when I speak with them I realize that many decisions I took then, when I was 25-26, I would not take them now if I saw it through the lens of my experience. And maybe if I didn’t take it then, I would not have reached where I have reached. I think there would be no advice given to my younger self.”

He added, “I would still want to be- sorry this is politically incorrect- brash, overconfident, arrogant and being extremely silly and stupid, but being extremely gutsy also. So I think I would not be able to give any advice to my younger self. Maybe better hairstyle? Better fitting suits. In the 90s, my suits used to suck.” 

Shah Rukh Khan`s two cents on failure 

“When you fail, you should not believe that your product or service or job went wrong. Maybe you just misunderstood the ecosystem you were working in. You have to understand how people are reacting. If I cannot elicit an emotion from the people I cater to, then my product is not going to work how wonderful it may be,” SRK said.

Asked if he is critical of his work, Shah Rukh Khan admitted positively and shared, “I hate feeling this and then I cry a lot in my bathroom. I do not show it to anyone. You have to believe that the world is not against you. Your film did not go wrong because of you or because the world is conspiring against you. You have to believe that you made it badly. Then you have to move on.”
