Chasing 211 for the win, KL Rahul scored a masterful 92 to give Delhi a chance. After Rahul`s dismissal, David Miller scored 41 runs off just 20 balls to almost guide the hosts to a victory.

So I think, yes, we played very good cricket. As I said earlier, in a close chase, in a close game, you can point out a lot of things. But I think in the chase, I think we could have played smarter. “Definitely, all three games that we`ve played, you know, have gone until the last over. But very pleased to get over the line in this one. What did Rani Kapur say
As per the latest update from news agency ANI, Rani Kapur has spoken out about the ongoing dispute, calling it deeply painful and personal. She said, “It’s very hurtful for me because my husband made this trust (RK family trust) and gave everything to me. This girl (Priya Kapur) tried to take over everything my husband built all his life. We moved from Bombay to Delhi, we built the house. That house I have built sitting under a tree. She thinks she’s got it. Luckily, I have this house and I’ve been away from Delhi since my son died. I’ve not gone back. I’m scared now. What is she going to do to me?…I don’t know what she is going to do to get the wealth and it’s all my husband’s work. Nobody else’s. My son took over because he’s the son. That’s it… I don’t want her near that place.”
On the issue of settlement, she said there have been no discussions and made it clear that she does not see any easy resolution. She added that one cannot simply take away 40 years of hard work.
Rani Kapur has also issued a fresh notice asking Priya Kapur to stop acting as a trustee, stating that her removal has already taken effect after the notice period. She has rejected attempts to remove her from the trust, calling them legally invalid.

There comes a moment in a journey, when it is imperative to grow up. To evolve. To take the next step. It surely mustn’t have been easy for Samsung to retrain its guns in the newly reconfigured upper-mid-range Android smartphone price band, a where rivals including Xiaomi, OnePlus and Vivo have done well enough in recent years (also because of comparatively more bets, a strategy that gives better chances at finding success). Samsung’s Galaxy A56, launched early last year, has been succeeded right on cue with the Galaxy A57. More than a generational step forward, irrespective of what the naming or spec sheet comparisons may lead you to believe. At the core is the software, One UI 8.5 and everything it brings to the table.

Of course, in that evolution, prices have also seen an uptick. While the Galaxy A56 launched in India with a tag of ₹41,999 onwards, the Galaxy A57 is priced ₹56,999 onwards. There’s generational inflation, as well as the spectre of more expensive storage and memory hardware (you can thank the AI bros for that), which Samsung has to calculate for. The broad competition landscape for the Galaxy A57 is in itself a unique challenge. The new OnePlus Nord 6, as well as the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, a significantly price corrected OnePlus 13R and the Google Pixel 10a will all be in the reckoning.
There is a definite step up with aesthetics. The mix of glass and metal, in a much slimmer and lighter (almost 20 grams shaved off compared with the Galaxy A56), is right down the alternate flagship expectation alley. But then again, the ring around the camera island feels a bit out of place when aspirations aren’t exactly at par with other A-series phones. That observation aside, the Galaxy A57 is fantastic to hold and use, with the slimness noticeable more often than not. The finer details are an evolution instead of a ground-up redesign, but it’s still a fair step forward nonetheless.
The display upgrade isn’t on the core specs, because it’s the same 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, as its predecessor. However, Samsung has significantly slimmed down the bezels, and that provides the biggest experience refresh. It all feels significantly better, and next in line should be slimming the chin part of the bezel further.
I’d pointed out the importance of One UI 8.5 earlier as a key to the overall progress the Galaxy A57 has made with performance. It is good to see Samsung putting forward the efforts of their in-house Exynos chip development, with a lot of confidence. The Exynos 1680 is certainly powerful enough for the aspirations that the Galaxy A57 users would have, and that is further aided by significant improvements that One UI 8.5 brings to the table in terms of smoothness, refinement and overall fluidity.
The Galaxy A57 remains very responsive even under a fair multitasking load, and there is very little experience gap to be felt between this and a typical Android flagship phone. As a primary phone, you’d not be complaining about any stutters or dropped frames. That said, gaming will have some level of performance ceiling for the more visually intensive titles, and don’t expect this to hold 60fps for long. There’s a reason for that—certain amount of heating perceptibly filters through to the back of the phone at times, but not always (the Galaxy A57 has a 13% larger vapour cooling chamber). That will impact performance when it happens.
While the triple camera setup is a 50-megapixel wide, a 12-megapixel ultra wide and a 5-megapixel macro sensor, one would recommend sticking to the main wide sensor for photos as much as possible, particularly if you wish to run photos through Lightroom or Google Photos edits. There is a certain uptick in image processing as it handles complex lighting scenarios fairly well. Colours are really likeable and there is a fair amount of headroom available if you wish to do some gentle edits. Samsung’s approach to image processing does involve a fair amount of artificial intelligence (AI), but it’s only serving to accentuate realism, and not overbearing.
Speaking of which, unlike Samsung’s flagships, the Galaxy A57 doesn’t get the Galaxy AI suite but instead something called Awesome Intelligence. It’s a collective nonetheless, including photography focused object eraser and Edit Suggestions, as well as voice transcriptions in the recorder app, or AI Select to extract text from a photo. Mileage will vary, because though Samsung would have tried to refine this as close as possible to Galaxy AI, the very fact that it’s a different package suggests there won’t be parity at all times.
It is also important to point out a few things in the Galaxy A57 proposition. These aren’t defining an otherwise impressive smartphone, but more a matter of approach.
The intent to push a number of ‘recommended apps’ that download when setting up the phone (this includes Samsung’s Smart Tutor, Galaxy Wearable, Samsung News, Samsung Members), needs to be toned down. These can remain optional within Samsung’s own App Store. Nevertheless, most of these are to be found (you’ll notice News, Members, Gaming Hub and Wearable for sure) in your app drawer, irrespective of whether you uncheck the list at this stage or not.
Secondly, there is something called the Unity experience that prompts you during the setup stage, and indicates an intent to install new apps and also make recommendations. I wouldn’t want to lose control of my phone’s experience that easily, and while easy to miss, I’d recommend looking for that X at the top right of the screen to exit before ticking the checkbox and tapping on continue. Funnily enough, there seems to be no reference of this service later in the phone—either in Settings or as an app.
It is perhaps a losing battle to point out the habit of pre-installing Meta’s Facebook and Instagram apps, as well as Snap, Spotify and Netflix. And perhaps even having a widget placed on the Home Screen by default, which is essentially a billboard for scrolling advertisements. It is brave and right for Samsung to harbour alternative flagship phone positioning with the Galaxy A57, and it has done most things right with the hardware and software optimisations. But these little things need to be ironed out too.

Former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn believes the young opener is already getting into bowlers’ heads. After Sooryavanshi smashed Bumrah for a six off the very first ball, Steyn said,“I think that’s what he’s done,” he told ESPNCricinfo. “I mean, honestly, he’s created and instilled the fear into bowlers that he’s going to hit you for boundaries.”He pointed out that even a world-class bowler like Bumrah looked under pressure, adding, “That delivery from Bumrah, that’s in the slot. As per a report by Bar and Bench, the dispute revolves around the rights to the popular track from the 1989 film Tridev. The song was co-composed by Kalyanji–Anandji along with Viju Shah, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi, and vocals by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.Trimurti Films has alleged that the song, or a version substantially similar to it, has been used in the film without obtaining the required licences.
Claims of copyright infringement
The report also indicates that Trimurti has asserted ownership and/or control over the rights to the musical work and sound recording. The company has alleged that the usage amounts to copyright infringement, including unauthorised reproduction and public communication of the track.The suit seeks an injunction to restrain further use of the song, along with damages and other reliefs. It has also raised concerns about the track’s commercial exploitation across theatrical release, streaming platforms, and promotional content.

Film continues strong box office run
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The spy action thriller stars Ranveer Singh in the lead and serves as a sequel to Dhurandhar (2025).The film explores the origin story of his character, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, charting his transformation into Hamza Ali Mazari and his rise within Lyari’s underworld while carrying out a larger mission.The ensemble cast includes Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun, with Danish Pandor and Udaybir Sandhu in key roles. The film also features a cameo by Yami Gautam. Despite the controversy, the film has been performing exceptionally well, reportedly crossing the Rs 1000 crore mark at the Indian box office.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was granted relief by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) in a case related to the alleged misleading advertisement linked to a pan masala brand, and directed that the original records of the proceedings be produced before it.

A bench comprising NCDRC President Justice AP Sahi and member Bharatkumar Pandey ordered the Rajasthan State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to summon the complete records from the Jaipur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and forward them to the registrar of the national commission. “In order to appreciate the arguments and the assumptions raised, it would be appropriate to examine the records of the district commission as well as the state commission,” the bench said in its order.
The commission directed that the records, including proceedings initiated under Section 72 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, be sent through a special messenger after being summoned from the district commission.
Pending the consideration of this matter, the NCDRC stated that the execution of any warrants issued by the district commission would remain in abeyance.
A notice has been issued to the complainant, advocate Yogendra Singh Badiyal, directing that it be served through both the state and district consumer commissions. Additionally, the notice will be sent via registered speed post.
“We therefore direct that the state commission, Rajasthan, shall send for the entire records of the district commission pertaining to the subject matter,” it said.
The matter is scheduled for admission on April 14, 2026.
About the case
Earlier on Tuesday, Senior advocate Ravi Prakash, appearing for Khan, had argued that the district commission adopted coercive and disproportionate measures, including issuing bailable warrants without proper service of orders on the actor. He contended that applications for certified copies of the orders were pending, despite the orders having been reported in the media.
According to the plea, the district commission had also directed the constitution of a Special Task Force to secure Khan`s presence, which the counsel described as unusual in consumer proceedings.
The dispute originates from a complaint filed in December 2025 with the Jaipur District Consumer Commission against Rajshree Pan Masala and Khan, claiming that their advertisement constituted a surrogate promotion of pan masala and was a misleading advertisement under the Consumer Protection Act.
Khan was named as Opposite Party No. 2 in his capacity as the brand ambassador for “Rajshree Elaichi.”
On January 6, 2026, the district commission passed an interim order directing the respondents to refrain from issuing misleading advertisements. According to Khan`s plea, the order was passed ex parte without notice to him. Subsequently, a contempt application under Section 72 of the Act was filed alleging violation of the order based on a hoarding featuring the actor.
On January 15, 2026, the district commission issued bailable warrants against Khan in the contempt proceedings. Khan challenged the order before the Rajasthan State Consumer Commission under Section 73 of the Act.
However, by a judgment dated March 16, 2026, the state commission dismissed the appeal and upheld the issuance of the bailable warrants.
India bounced back in style in the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group I tie, registering a comprehensive 3-0 win over New Zealand on Wednesday, powered by confident performances from Vaishnavi Adkar and Sahaja Yamalapalli.
Coming off a 1-2 loss to Thailand in a rain-hit opener, India showed sharp improvement across all three matches against a New Zealand side missing their top player Lulu Sun.
She capitalised on Das’ inconsistency early, recovering from 15-40 to secure the first break and move 2-0 ahead. The Indian held firm in long deuce exchanges and extended her lead with another break in the fifth game.
Though Das managed to pull one break back, Vaishnavi responded immediately and closed out the opening set 6-2 with an ace.
The second set was tighter, with Das levelling at 4-4 after breaking back from 0-40 down. Vaishnavi, however, regained control at the right time, breaking again in the ninth game before serving out the match.
“It was my first match as a player in the Billie Jean King Cup, so I was definitely very nervous. I did not handle my nerves well. But that was a lesson learned for me,” Vaishnavi said.
“Coming on court today, I had to focus on what I do best. And all I had to do was go to court and give my best.”
Sahaja then sealed the tie with a dominant 6-1, 6-3 win over Valentina Ivanov in the second singles.
In a baseline-heavy contest, Sahaja dictated play with her forehand and movement. She broke early and raced through the opening set 6-1, before carrying the momentum into the second.
After building a 3-1 lead, Sahaja briefly lost serve in the seventh game but broke back immediately to move 5-3 ahead. She then closed out the match comfortably.
“I’m happy with the win. It was a tough match (against Thailand) to swallow. We expected a different result, we did what we could, we fought our heart out,” Sahaja said.
“I wasn’t happy with the strategies I executed (in first match) so I told myself to do that better to close out the matches. We need to fight for every point, support each other and see where it takes us.”
In the doubles, Rutuja Bhosale and Ankita Raina completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Erin Routliffe and Monique Barry.
The result marked a strong turnaround for India after a disappointing start against Thailand, where Vaishnavi had lost on debut and Sahaja went down narrowly in a three-set match to Patcharin.
India will look to build on the momentum as the Group I ties continue.
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra is among those on Aditya Dhar’s team for Dhurandhar, who received their share of praise for the film. Now, the director himself took to his social media on Wednesday to reveal how crucial the casting director was for the Ranveer Singh-starrer. He even credited Mukesh for believing in the film when his own faith wavered and for reshaping it.

He added that the casting director was fearless while pushing the limits for the film, writing, “From the very first narration, he believed in the scale, the ambition, the sheer possibility of Dhurandhar far more than I did. Where I was cautious, he was fearless. Where I was thinking within limits, he pushed me to think bigger, not just in numbers, but in depth, in detail, in truth.
The casting of this film was never going to be easy. The sheer number of actors, the range of characters, the responsibility of getting every single face right, it was overwhelming. But Mukesh and his team just went all guns blazing.”

Aditya reveals the simple brief he had for Mukesh that he fulfilled, writing, “My only brief to them was simple: bring me great actors, new or old, big or small, it doesn’t matter. And he turned that into a mission. What followed were endless days and nights, sitting together, breaking down every character, debating, exploring, rejecting, discovering. Conversations that didn’t feel like work but like building something brick by brick with absolute honesty.”
He added that Mukesh went deep for even the smallest role in the film, crediting him for pulling it off. He also added that he found a friend, a well-wisher and a brother in him. “Someone who stood by the film with complete faith, even when mine wavered,” he wrote. “I truly hope this film makes people realise the power of casting as one of the most crucial, yet often overlooked, aspects of filmmaking. It can make a film or break it. And it’s unfortunate that our industry still doesn’t celebrate casting directors the way it should,” Aditya ended his note in hope that this makes filmmakers realise the importance of casting.
An overwhelmed Mukesh replied to him, and a portion of his comment reads, “I keep telling everyone that in the journey of this film, I’ve found a brother in Mumbai—and that means more to me than anything else. Working with you has honestly been one of the best experiences of my life. I have been in this industry for so many years, but the way you treat people—the respect you give to every HOD and every individual on set—is something truly rare.”

Dhurandhar was released in theatres in December last year, while Dhurandhar 2 hit screens on March 19. The former collected over ₹1300 crore worldwide, while the latter has crossed ₹1600 crore. Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera and others make up the film’s lead cast. Dhurandhar 2 is the second-highest-grossing Hindi film after Dangal.
India`s Vaishnavi Adkar faltered under the weight of unforced errors, slumping to a shock straight-set defeat against Aunchisa Chanta as the hosts trailed 0-1 against Thailand in their opening Asia/Oceania Group I tie of the Billie Jean King Cup here on Tuesday.
Ranked 73 places above her opponent at 383, Vaishnavi went down 1-6, 3-6 in one hour and 13 minutes at the DLTA Centre Court after play was delayed by more than three hours due to persistent drizzle which caused unusually cool conditions.
The onus is now on Sahaja Yamlapalli (384), who takes on Patcharin Cheapchandej (449) in the second singles to keep India in the contest. Vaishnavi endured a shaky start, dropping serve in the opening game amid a flurry of errors. She battled through a marathon third game, saving three break points and stretching it across seven deuces, but eventually succumbed to a down-the-line backhand winner as she fell 0-3 behind.
Aunchisa, a left-hander with a rare double-handed forehand and a penetrating backhand, dictated play from the baseline to race to a 4-0 lead. Vaishnavi briefly steadied to get on the board in the fifth game, but the momentum firmly remained with the Thai player.
Under sustained pressure, Vaishnavi soon faced two set points and surrendered the opener in just 23 minutes, sending a forehand long before pushing a backhand wide.
