Pension fund regulator PFRDA has launched the second proof of concept (POC) of ‘NPS Swasthya’, an initiative aimed at integrating retirement planning with healthcare funding, PTI reported.The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) said the National Pension System (NPS) Swasthya is a multi-partner framework designed to provide financial and health security.Under the initiative, Medi Assist Healthcare Services will act as the core technology partner, CAMS KRA will handle onboarding and KYC, while Tata Pension Fund and Axis Pension Fund will serve as fund managers. Aditya Birla Health Insurance will provide top-up cover, and Medi Assist TPA will manage claims.“The initiative addresses a growing gap in India’s retirement landscape, where healthcare costs are projected to rise by 11.5 per cent to 14 per cent in 2026, significantly outpacing inflation and putting long-term financial security under pressure for millions,” PFRDA said.The move comes as the pension ecosystem expands rapidly, with NPS and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) together having a subscriber base of 9.64 crore and assets under management of Rs 16.55 lakh crore as of March 29, 2026.Unlike traditional NPS funds that remain locked until retirement, NPS Swasthya allows subscribers to access a “Net Eligible Balance” of up to 25% of their contributions for medical expenses.Subscribers can withdraw funds through the MAven App, developed by Medi Assist, which is integrated with the CAMS Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA) system to enable seamless access to funds for healthcare needs.

Mukesh Chhabra’s emotional response
Reacting to the post, Mukesh Chhabra penned an equally emotional reply. Calling Aditya his “brother,” he expressed gratitude and said working on the film had been one of the best experiences of his life.“Bhai, reading this post… I genuinely don’t know what to say. Dhurandhar 2, which hit theatres on March 19, has been shattering records at the box office and has already crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark globally. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also features Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, and Danish Pandor in key roles.
Gaza City, Gaza Strip – At noon on Monday, Asaad Nteel and his family were terrified when a group of armed men suddenly stormed their home in eastern Maghazi, central Gaza. There had been no prior warning.
Family members quickly found themselves in the centre of a gunfight between rival armed Palestinian groups, which are currently roaming the Gaza Strip in the wake of Israel’s brutal war.
At first, Nteel and his family thought the gunmen, who rushed into their home as heavy fire thundered outside, must be Israeli soldiers, as they live very close to the “yellow line” that separates Palestinian and Israeli-controlled areas of Gaza.
The armed men, however, quickly identified themselves to the family as the “Popular Forces combating terrorism”, an armed group and a rival to Hamas operating in central Gaza.
“They broke the doors, detained my uncle and the other man, and took them away towards an area near the yellow line,” Nteel told Al Jazeera.
Nteel, his wife, and their extended family, including his parents and siblings in the upstairs apartment, say they froze in fear.
“The militia members ordered us to gather in one room and not move at all,” Nteel explained.
“We chose not to resist so they wouldn’t harm us or the children and women with us.”
As the family crowded into a single room of the house, the armed men positioned themselves near windows and openings, exchanging gunfire with other gunmen believed to be affiliated with Hamas.
The family later discovered theirs was one of four houses in the neighbourhood that the armed group used as cover during this particular battle.
“We didn’t understand what exactly was happening or what these militias wanted. We stayed like that until they received orders to withdraw,” Nteel said.
Before the gunmen left, they interrogated Nteel at length about whether any nearby residents were affiliated with Hamas.
They also accused him of attempting to film them after spotting cameras in the house. He tried to convince them that the cameras were not working and explained that he and his wife had worked as wedding photographers before the war.
“They reluctantly believed my story and confirmed it with my father, but still confiscated all my equipment, my cameras and lenses,” he said.

Backed by the Israeli army
The gunfight the Nteel family was terrifyingly caught up in on Monday was just one part of a series of raids and clashes by armed gang members on the east side of the camp, which resulted in the killing of at least 10 Palestinians and the injury of dozens more that day, according to Al-Aqsa Hospital reports.
The Ministry of Health also reported 10 deaths in the violence in Maghazi as well as 44 people injured on Monday.
The attack began when armed groups approached from the direction of the yellow line, moving towards civilian homes and the Al-Maghazi Preparatory Boys School, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which is sheltering large numbers of displaced people.
As gunfire rained down on the school, residents tried to stop the men, triggering clashes.
Mohammad Jouda, 37, one of the displaced people living in the school, told Al Jazeera from Al-Aqsa Hospital that people had been caught completely off guard by the gunfire, triggering panic and chaos.
“We couldn’t move at all because of the intensity of the fire. Armed men stormed the school and started shooting directly inside… it was pure panic and shock. The school is full of displaced people, children and women. Then, minutes later, warplanes struck the school gate… we were surrounded from all sides… there were casualties everywhere.”
Resistance by local residents and people inside the school prompted fire cover from accompanying Israeli forces, which allowed the armed men to withdraw, he said.
Khaled Abu Saqr, another resident of Maghazi, told Al Jazeera that Monday’s events had come as “a major shock” for residents and displaced people, as the camp’s streets turned into a “war zone”.
“I was about 400 metres [1,300 feet] away. People started saying there was a raid, then news spread that Israeli-backed militias were advancing,” he said.
“Many people gathered, trying to confront them and stop their advance amid heavy clashes. Suddenly, multiple reconnaissance missiles were fired.”
According to eyewitnesses, large crowds of people were fired upon or shelled, particularly near the school packed with displaced civilians.
“I was watching and trying to hide to avoid being hit. People were running in fear, women and children fleeing the militias, while streets filled with cars carrying the wounded and the dead,” Abu Saqr told Al Jazeera.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with activists sharing videos documenting victims being transported to hospitals.
‘Bombing and blood never stop’
These groups are spread geographically across Gaza, operating near front lines, where they have taken advantage of the collapse in security caused by the war. Analysts say reports indicate they mostly consist of small numbers and operate outside traditional structures.
There is one in the far north, in Beit Lahiya; and a second, also in the north, in eastern Gaza City, particularly Shujayea.
In central Gaza, mostly east of Deir al-Balah, there is a third group responsible for the Maghazi attack.
In the south, there is a fourth group in eastern Khan Younis. There is also a fifth group in the south, in Rafah.
These groups appear to operate near areas along the “yellow line”, local people say.
According to Abu Saqr in Maghazi, the violence on Monday lasted for more than an hour and a half, causing extreme distress to residents who, he says, do not support these groups.
“Security forces and many civilians tried to confront the militias. People strongly reject them and tried to stop them by any means, but they were bombed… the scene was like a massacre.”
“They say there’s a truce and a ceasefire… that’s all lies. Bombing, killing, and blood never stop. We are exhausted.”
Indeed, since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas supposedly began on October 11, some 733 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, and 2,034 injured. That is in addition to 759 bodies recovered.
The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights claims that Israel is increasingly supporting these groups to carry out operations within densely populated camps and neighbourhoods.
It said armed drones provided direct support on Monday, firing heavily and randomly into alleys in the camp to aid the armed men’s withdrawal.
The centre added that it has documented previous violence by these groups, including looting of aid convoys, kidnappings, torture and killings, with cover or support from the Israeli army.
Legally, it pointed out, forming and supporting such armed groups constitutes a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949. Israel ratified the Geneva Conventions in 1951.
The emergence of these armed groups in Gaza represents a “dangerous escalation and evasion of legal responsibility”, the human rights group said. It called on the international community and the United Nations to launch an urgent independent investigation, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure effective protection for civilians.
BENGALURU: As the Athletics Federation of India on Wednesday reiterated its stand that athletes should mandatorily obtain its approval before entering into an agreement with a third party and that the decision is to protect the athletes, legal experts slammed the federation’s move as “unconstitutional and arbitrary.”“This is akin to mandatorily seeking a blanket prior approval, which is wholly unconstitutional and arbitrary besides being an unreasonable and unlawful restraint on athletes’ commercial freedom as also his/her trade or profession. It thus seems to be violative of Article 19(1)(g) (Freedom of Trade or Profession) of the Constitution of India,” sports lawyer Rahul Mehra told TOI.“Instead, AFI could have issued advisory guidelines in order to protect the athletes from entering into conflicting or harmful contracts, but to have such a mandatory prior approval is reflective of seeking absolute control over athletes’ commercial right and interest,” he added.Critics pointed out that the AFI move could also be aimed at protecting their sponsors. “The new circular seems to have been triggered by long-distance runner Gulveer Singh moving out of Reliance (one of AFI’s sponsors) to OGQ to JSW within three months. AFI can support their sponsor but that should not be done by troubling the athletes who are getting individual sponsors,” another legal expert said.Experts also wondered why the AFI should trouble India’s top athletes like Neeraj Chopra, asking them to get approval for getting a sponsorship deal. “The value of athletics in India is because of Chopra. It’s an attempt to exert some form of control. There is no chance (that it will stand scrutiny in court) as it’s a restraint of trade,” an expert told TOI.“In 2007, after India lost in the World Cup, the BCCI wanted to control the number of endorsements of the players. A few years back, the NRAI (the national shooting federation) wanted to do the same thing and failed. The AFI’s move is more like a public statement to assert control. Earlier, they said if you don’t attend national camp they will drop you. Likewise, if you don’t report your endorsements we can drop you,” he explained.Meanwhile, the AFI said the whole idea is to help the athletes. “This considered decision has come in the wake of some sponsors drawing AFI’s attention. We would like the athletes to focus on their training and competition rather than get caught up in signing contracts,” AFI said in a post on X.“At AFI, we are mindful of athletes’ welfare and do not want to come in the way of their making money through endorsement deals. However, we will protect the interests of the athletes and Indian athletics. AFI believes that athletes affect (sic) such changes without understanding the implications of terminating the contracts they have signed with sponsors,” the federation’s post added.“While asking for prior approval of contracts and agreements, AFI is ensuring that its legal team is on hand to advise the athletes against potential pitfalls. Bollywood production company Trimurti Films, on Wednesday, filed a suit against filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s production house, B62 Studios, accusing them of using the song Rang De Lal in Dhurandhar 2 without appropriate authorisation. The song is a recreated version of the song Tirchi Topiwale, whose rights are owned by the Trimurti.
Trimurti Films sues Dhurandhar 2
According to a Bar and Bench report, the dispute emerged from the rights to the song, Tirchi Topiwale, originally co-composed by Anand–Milind, with lyrics by Sameer Anjaan. The song originally featured in the 1989 film Tridev, with vocals by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.
Trimurti Films alleged that the song, or a version substantially similar to it, has been used in the defendant’s film without acquiring the requisite licences or permissions. According to sources, Trimurti has claimed ownership and control over the relevant rights in the musical work as well as its sound recording. In the lawsuit, the production company claimed that the use of its song amounts to copyright infringement, including unauthorised reproduction and communication of the work to the public.
The suit by Trimurti seeks injunctive relief restraining further use of the song, along with damages and other consequential relief. They have also raised concerns over potential commercial exploitation of the track through the theatrical release, streaming platforms and promotional material of Dhurandhar 2.

As his recent release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, continues to break box-office records, director Aditya Dhar has also received relief from the court in a case concerning alleged script theft. On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court passed an interim order restraining filmmaker Santosh Kumar from repeating his allegation that director Aditya Dhar stole the script of Dhurandhar from him.

Filmmaker barred from making allegations against Aditya Dhar
Aditya Dhar moved the HC, claiming that Santosh Kumar’s repeated media allegations are defamatory and damage his reputation. Justice Arif Doctor, while passing an interim order, noted that Dhar made a prima facie case for the grant of such relief.
“Until the next date, the defendant (Kumar) shall be restrained from repeating words and remarks set out in the suit (filed by Dhar) and all other allegations of a similar nature,” the court said. The next hearing is scheduled for April 16.
Dhurandhar was released in December. Starring Ranveer Singh, the spy thriller was a critical and commercial success, minting ₹1300 crore worldwide, and setting a new domestic collection record for Bollywood. The record was broken by its sequel – Dhurandhar: The Revenge – which released last month.
After the release of Dhurandhar 2, Santosh Kumar made the allegations saying that the plot of Dhurandhar 2 was copied from his registered script titled ‘D Saheb’. The filmmaker added that his script was registered with the Screenwriters Association of India (SWA) and he would take legal action against Dhar.
Aditya Dhar initially issued a legal notice to Kumar denying any plagiarism, asking him not to make further allegations. However, when the latter failed to respond, Dhar moved the Bombay HC through DSK Legal. Birendra Saraf, Aditya Dhar’s counsel, told the court that the repeated accusations were causing irreparable damage to the filmmaker’s reputation.

Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2 were initially planned as a single film, split into two just weeks before the December release. Aditya Dhar said the decision was taken due to the length of the edited footage. In the end, the two films had a combined runtime of over seven hours. Apart from Ranveer, the two films also star Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun.
Dhurandhar 2 has become the first Bollywood film to earn ₹1000 crore net domestically. Globally, the film has grossed over ₹1600 crore, becoming the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
Delhi Capitals got off to a blazing start, scoring 63 runs in the first six overs against Gujarat Titans while chasing a daunting target of 211. GT had earlier posted a strong total, largely powered by captain Shubman Gill’s impressive knock.

Apple Inc.’s first foldable iPhone is on track to arrive during the company’s normal iPhone launch period later this year, people with knowledge of the matter said, rebutting concerns about major manufacturing snags.
Apple is expected to price the foldable iPhone in excess of $2,000.
The company is scheduled to introduce the foldable model in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans haven’t been announced. iPhones typically hit store shelves the week after they’re unveiled.
A report from Nikkei Asia concerns about a delay on Tuesday. Apple shares fell as much as 5.1% after the news outlet said that the company was facing challenges in the engineering test phase of the phone. That threatens to push back the production and shipment schedule, according to Nikkei Asia.
While the complexity of the new display and materials may limit initial supply for several weeks, Apple is currently operating with a plan to put the device on sale around the same time—or very soon after—the new non-foldable models, the people said.
Still, the release is six months away and production has yet to ramp up. That means the timing isn’t final. A spokesperson for the Cupertino, California-based company declined to comment.
iPhone Fold: New Form Factor

Foldable iPhone: What to Expect
The foldable iPhone will be similar to competing products—with a few key selling points. Apple engineers believe they’ve solved problems with screen quality and overall durability—two long-running flaws with phones in this category. That includes making the display’s crease less visible when it’s unfolded.
The iPhone will include a wide display orientation when opened up in landscape view, making it more effective for watching video and gaming than the narrower foldable phone offerings on the market today. Apple is planning to update its iOS operating system to make iPhone apps look more like iPad apps on the inside of new device.
The product’s price, meanwhile, is expected to cross the $2,000 threshold. While that may deter some consumers, it should boost Apple’s average sales price and help fuel revenue growth for the company.
At the same time, Apple is shaking up the iPhone’s yearly release schedule. Its next entry-level model will be pushed back to spring 2027, Bloomberg News has reported. The company also plans to debut a new iPhone Air and a lower-budget iPhone 18e at that time. It released the iPhone 17e last month.

The first film showed Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy who infiltrates gangs in Lyari to eliminate a terror network targeting India while also climbing the power ladder within Pakistan’s underworld.
The film also stars Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in lead roles, along with Danish Pandor, Udaybir Sandhu and others in key roles. It also features a cameo by Aditya Dhar’s wife and actor Yami Gautam. It has crossed ₹1000 crore at the box office in India.
