US-Iran war news live: Tehran claims ‘gross violation’ of ceasefire by Washington; Trump will hold a cabinet meeting

US-Iran war news live: Donald Trump set to hold cabinet meeting at White House.

US-Iran war news live: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned Washington on Tuesday after attacking Iranian missile launch sites and ships near the Strait of Hormuz. Twenty-five ships, including oil tankers, passed through the vital waterway “over the past day and night”, the IRGC said. Efforts to revive diplomacy between Tehran and Washington remain uncertain. The two sides are reportedly working toward a memorandum of understanding, although any breakthrough has been delayed by disagreements over the wording and lifting of sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear program.

Disagreement on ‘one word’

US President Donald Trump said he will host a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Wednesday. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that talks were stuck because of “disagreement on one word, one sentence.”

Iran condemned US attacks

In Tehran, Iranian officials condemned the “gross violation” of the ceasefire by the United States. He claimed that recent US attacks on southern Iran have seriously weakened diplomatic efforts to prevent all-out war.

According to the semi-official Fars news agency, a senior spokesman for Iran’s armed forces warned that if the US and Israel bombed Iran again, the response would be “very heavy and strong” which “could extend beyond regional borders”.

Internet access partially restored

Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref also confirmed that the country has taken the “first step” toward restoring full internet access after weeks of shutdowns and restrictions.

Internet access has started to be restored in Iran after a month-long blackout. Monitoring group NetBlocks reported that online activity had partially restored after several weeks of heavy restrictions across the country.

Israel-Lebanon update

At least 31 people were killed in Israeli air strikes in Lebanon on Tuesday, according to the country’s health ministry. The attacks were one of the deadliest days since the ceasefire came into effect in April, Al Jazeera reported.

According to an Israeli military official, Israeli forces demolished land north of their self-declared security zone in southern Lebanon. As Israel continued to bomb the area and troops penetrated deeper, residents of southern Lebanon fled in large numbers. The Israeli military also issued several displacement orders to towns and villages in the south and east of the country.

Sales also defended recent US strikes and argued that Tehran had violated the ceasefire “from day one”. “If the Iranians are concerned about the fragility of the ceasefire, they might well look in the mirror,” he said.

US-Iran war news live: Iran envoy says US ‘lack of stability’ blocking ceasefire deal

US-Iran war news LIVE: Iran’s Consul General in Mumbai Saeed Reza Mosaeb Motlagh said the US’s “lack of consistency” in decision-making remains one of the main obstacles in reaching a ceasefire deal with Tehran.

Speaking to ANI, Motlagh criticized the US negotiators, saying they often lack the authority to take decisions independently. “Currently, the main obstacle is the United States. There is a lack of stability in their decision-making,” he said.

He also accused US President Donald Trump of sending mixed signals during the talks. Motlagh said, “He says one thing at night and something else in the morning. This inconsistency makes it very difficult to reach any conclusion.”

The Iranian diplomat claimed that Washington could be using the talks “as a cover for other intentions”, while stressing that talks between the two sides have not reached an impasse.
