Taapsee Pannu to pull off action sequences while blindfolded in Netflix mystery Gandhari

Actor Taapsee Pannu will soon star in a Netflix revenge drama titled Gandhari. Sources reveal to HT that the actor will perform unique action sequences in the film, including when she’s blindfolded. While a release date for the revenge drama has yet to be announced, the promotional material hints at a story of a mother fighting to protect her child.

Taapsee Pannu to pull off blindfolded action sequences

A source close to the development says that Taapsee will be performing intense action sequences in Gandhari while blindfolded. “Taapsee Pannu is set to push boundaries like never before, performing intense action sequences while blindfolded, adding a whole new layer of challenge to her character,” they say, adding, “This isn’t just stunt work; rather, it’s a new way of thinking about action heroes. In the blindfolded fight scenes, she cannot use her sight and must depend on instinct, muscle memory, and inner strength, turning her vulnerability into power.”

Gandhari in the Mahabharatha and her blindfold

Interestingly, in the Mahabharata, Gandhari, the Queen of Hastinapur, famously wore a blindfold throughout her married life to voluntarily share the fate of her blind husband, King Dhritarashtra. This has been interpreted as everything from devotion to her husband to defiance at finding out her husband’s blindness only after their marriage. Some also believe that the blindfold is a metaphor for Gandhari’s blind love and hubris towards her sons, the Kauravas, who fight against the Pandavas and eventually die. It would be interesting to see how the filmmakers interpret this.

About Gandhari

Gandhari is directed by Devashish Makhija and written by Kanika Dhillon, who also produced it under Kathha Productions. It tells the story of a mother who perseveres in her search for her kidnapped child, as per the film’s team. The film is expected to be released on Netflix this year. It also stars Swastika Mukherjee and Ishwak Singh.

The announcement video of Gandhari doesn’t have any visuals. But Taapsee says in a voiceover, “They say a mother’s blessing is always around. But when it comes to her child, she will turn the world upside down. The video was released in September 2024, and the film was described as “Your favourite duo from Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba brings you another thriller, and another kind of love – the love between a mother and her child. Taapsee Pannu plays a fierce mom in Gandhari, a mystery produced and written by Kanika Dhillon.”

For the unversed, Kanika and Taapsee have worked together in several successful films over the years, including Manmarziyaan (2018), Haseen Dillruba (2021), Rashmi Rocket (2021), and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (2024).

Middle East crisis: Millions around the world could be pushed into poverty, flags UNDP

What began as a conflict between the US, Iran and Israel, is now sending ripples far beyond the Middle East, spilling across the global economy. According to a report by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) the crisis risks pushing nearly 8.8 million people into poverty, with South Asia accounting for the largest share. The report, titled “Military Escalation In The Middle East: Human Development Impacts Across Asia And The Pacific”, said that the conflict is “widening human development pressures across Asia and the Pacific.”It further added, “Through higher fuel, freight, and input costs, the shock is diminishing household purchasing power, raising food insecurity, straining public budgets, and weakening livelihoods.”

According to a preliminary assessment, the economic impact of the escalation may cost the Asia-Pacific region up to $299 billion. The assessment indicates that Iran could see its Human Development Index (HDI) decline by an amount equivalent to roughly one to one and a half years of human development progress. India is projected to lose around 0.03–0.12 years of HDI gains, while Nepal and Viet Nam may see losses of 0.02–0.09 years and 0.02–0.07 years respectively. The report also flagged food security concerns, stating that countries such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines could face additional pressure due to falling remittances linked to reduced Gulf economic activity. The decline comes as due to soaring oil prices, which have long stayed amid the $90 and $100 per barrel range, even rising beyond it. “Through higher fuel, freight, and input costs, the shock is diminishing household purchasing power, raising food insecurity, straining public budgets, and weakening livelihoods,” it said.On the trade and supply chain front, the assessment uncovered major impacts in 25 out of 36 countries under the analysis, driven by freight surcharges, higher war-risk insurance premiums, route diversions, and delays in the delivery of intermediate and consumer goods. The report also highlighted the impact of the conflict on remittance flows and migrant workers.“For several countries, the scale of direct exposure to Gulf labour markets and remittance flows is both substantial and consequential,” the report said. The war has now stretched beyond six weeks with no sign of an end. The US-Iran peace talks have so far failed to yield any conclusion, though hopes are being pinned on a second round of discussions. According to Reuters, negotiating teams from the United States and Iran are expected to return to Pakistan later this week to resume efforts to end the conflict in the Gulf, Pakistani and Iranian officials said on Tuesday, days after the initial talks ended without a breakthrough.

Varun Dhawan is feuding online with influencer who accused him of faking reviews for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

An Instagram influencer by the name of Simran Bhat posted a Reel on Tuesday, accusing Varun Dhawan of faking reviews for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’s first look. She explained that she was approached by two individuals at the metro station for a review, and that they insisted on her review even though she hadn’t watched the teaser. Varun responded to her claim that he was going through ‘bure din’ (bad times).

Influencer claims she was approached for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’s first look review

Simran posted a Reel explaining that she and her friend were approached by two individuals at Rajiv Chowk Metro. She details, “Two people stopped us and said a Varun Dhawan film teaser had been released. Can you please review it? I told them I hadn’t watched it yet. The guy said, it’s okay, we’ll tell you what to say. I questioned how it could be a review if they tell us what to say? The girl tried to reason that it’s because I hadn’t watched it yet. But if you want a genuine review, take it from those who have watched it.”

She then claims that the woman who had approached her insisted that she watch the teaser then. “The girl insisted that I watch it then. I said it was getting late and I needed to be somewhere. Accha niklo niklo! Jao jao. (Okay, fine, just leave) I was like, bhai, Varun Dhawan ke itne bure din aagaye kya ki usko fake reviews lene pad rahe hai? (Is Varun Dhawan going through such bad times that he needs to fake reviews?) What the hell?” claimed Simran.

Varun Dhawan responds to claims, says she’s doing it for views

Varun commented under her Reel, writing, “Hope you get the views you really want with this video (claps emoji).” Simran responded, “@varundvn Sir with due respect I don’t need to do these kinds of things for views. I already am satisfied with my numbers…” She also re-shared his comment on her Instagram Stories, reiterating, “With due respect I’m already getting good views and Tbh I’m satisfied with my numbers.”

She added, “Secondly if I needed attention I should have posted it on my feed but it was a trial reel. And this actually happened with us. Also you should definitely once check with your pr team kyuki isse aapki hi image p farak padd rha h. (because it’s affecting your image).” She also posted a screenshot of another comment he seems to have deleted that read: “First of all ma’am u have convinced urself that someone who has come and asked u has asked u because I sent them to u all this for views.” Posting it she wrote, “Woh sab toh thik h lekin aapne comment delete kyu kiya (All this is fine but why did you delete this comment?)”

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is directed by David Dhawan and stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. The first look shows what appears to be two AI-generated babies discussing their parentage, and the film will be released in theatres on May 22.

Brydon Carse ruled out of IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad name Sri Lanka pacer as his replacement

England pacer Brydon Carse has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 edition due to an injury. Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday named Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka as his replacement for the remainder of the 19th edition of the T20 tournament. Carse was picked up by the 2016 champions for INR 1 crore; however, he was injured before the start of the tournament and missed the opening five matches for the franchise.

After the loss against the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the tournament opener, Sunrisers head coach Daniel Vettori had revealed that Carse suffered a hand injury. At that time, the former New Zealand spinner said that the speedster would be available and in contention for the next game, but it wasn’t to be.

“He got hit on the hand in the nets when he was batting, on his bowling hand. It was cleared of any break, but there was quite a lot of swelling, and he tried to push for the game, but it was difficult for him to hold the ball. He has been improving, so we are hoping he is available for selection for Kolkata,” Vettori had told reporters on March 28.

However, on Tuesday (April 15), the IPL governing council confirmed that Carse has indeed been ruled out and Madushanka has been named as his replacement. The speedster has joined the Sunrisers for INR 75 lakh. He is no stranger to the IPL, as he has previously been part of the Mumbai Indians setup.

Speaking of Madushanka, the left-arm medium pacer, he has represented Sri Lanka in 1 Test, 28 ODIs, and 19 T20Is, and has 70 wickets in international cricket to his name.

Pat Cummins’ status

Pat Cummins, the designated Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, is expected to undergo a fitness test in Australia on Wednesday, April 16, and if he clears this assessment, he will link up with the squad in India on April 17.

In the absence of Cummins, Ishan Kishan has been leading the franchise. The team has so far won two of five games. On Monday, the team smashed Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs to move to the fourth spot in the points table.

Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain had dream debuts with both pacers returning with four wickets each, helping Sunrisers defend the total of 216.

CSK vs KKR Live Score, IPL 2026: Will MS Dhoni play? Two bottom-ranked teams lock horns in Chennai

CSK vs KKR Live Score, IPL 2026: The dominance of Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians in the IPL is reflected in their combined 13 titles, a staggering tally in an 18-year-old tournament. Yet, the 2026 season has turned expectations upside down, with all three teams languishing at the bottom after four rounds. Among them, KKR remain the only side without a win, intensifying the pressure ahead of their clash with CSK in Chennai.

CSK, however, arrive with renewed confidence after snapping their losing streak against Delhi Capitals. That victory was not just crucial for points but also hinted at a tactical shift at their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Traditionally reliant on spin, CSK adapted to pace-friendly conditions, using hard lengths effectively. If similar pitches persist, their pace arsenal could redefine their home advantage.

Batting-wise, Sanju Samson’s century marked a turning point after a slow start to the season. The team might further tweak its approach by reshuffling the top order, possibly altering the roles of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre to better exploit the Powerplay.

KKR’s campaign, in contrast, has been a tale of missed opportunities. Despite posting 220 against Mumbai Indians, they failed to defend it. A rain-hit game and a defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad have compounded their woes. While Angkrish Raghuvanshi has emerged as a bright spot, the lack of contributions from Finn Allen and Cameron Green has hurt their consistency.

Bowling concerns add to KKR’s troubles, with injuries and uncertainty around Varun Chakaravarthy’s availability. Tactical adjustments, such as promoting Sunil Narine to open and utilizing him early with the ball, could be key.

With clear skies expected and a batting-friendly black soil pitch on offer, the contest sets up as a crucial opportunity for both sides. CSK will aim to build momentum, while KKR are desperate to break their winless run and revive their season.

CSK vs KKR squads:

Kolkata Knight Riders Squad: Ajinkya Rahane(c), Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi(w), Cameron Green, Rinku Singh, Rovman Powell, Ramandeep Singh, Anukul Roy, Sunil Narine, Navdeep Saini, Kartik Tyagi, Manish Pandey, Vaibhav Arora, Tejasvi Dahiya, Rahul Tripathi, Tim Seifert, Blessing Muzarabani, Saurabh Dubey, Sarthak Ranjan, Rachin Ravindra, Prashant Solanki, Varun Chakaravarthy, Matheesha Pathirana, Umran Malik, Daksh Kamra

Chennai Super Kings Squad: Sanju Samson(w), Ruturaj Gaikwad(c), Ayush Mhatre, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Dube, Dewald Brevis, Jamie Overton, Noor Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, Gurjapneet Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Matthew Short, Akeal Hosein, Kartik Sharma, Prashant Veer, Matt Henry, Ramakrishna Ghosh, MS Dhoni, Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Chahar, Spencer Johnson, Mukesh Choudhary, Urvil Patel, Aman Khan, Zakary Foulkes

What Yoga Training Really Means in 2026 india news

What Yoga Training Really Means in 2026 india news

There is a certain kind of person who comes to Sattva Yoga Academy not because they have heard that it is transformative, but because something in them is tired of change as a product. He has done workshops, a 200-hour training, retreats with silence and set meals. And something still feels incomplete. The questions they come up with vary. Not “What will I learn?” But “Will this really change the way I live?” Not “How do I become a yoga teacher?” But, more calmly: “How do I become a more honest person?”That transformation, from acquisition to inquiry, is at the heart of what Sattva Yoga represents.

What is Sattva Yoga?

Sattva Yoga is a living tradition rooted in the classical Himalayan lineage, brought into contemporary form Anand Mehrotra -Born and brought up in Rishikesh, a visionary who was immersed in the classical disciplines of yoga, breathing exercises and meditation from a young age. This is not a style of yoga. It is a holistic system of practice, integrating asana, pranayama, kriya, mantra, kundalini, and inner inquiry, that is oriented toward what its teachers call sattva: clarity, stability, and the quality of perception devoid of reactivity.Where most modern yoga begins and ends with the body, Sattva Yoga uses the body as a gateway. The destination is how you truly live: your reactions under pressure, the quality of your focus, your ability to remain present when it is uncomfortable.so Sattva Yoga Academy Rishikesh has attracted serious practitioners from around the world, not because the training is dramatic, but because it doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is: rigorous, honest, and demanding real effort.

A conversation at Sattva Yoga Academy

The reflections that emerge from an in-depth conversation with Anand Mehrotra, founder of Sattva Yoga Academy, take a nuanced look at what yoga training means in 2026. Beyond the surface of posturing and certifications, this dialogue explores who such training is really for, what it actually demands of those doing it, and what deeper change it seeks to initiate.Who are the people attracted to the teachings of Sattva and what are they really looking for? They’re not all looking for the same thing. But there is a pattern: They have usually tried many things that promise depth and surface. The answer they give here is honesty. We do not characterize this passage as joyful or transformative in any dramatic sense. We say it’s hard, slow and sometimes normal. People get some relief after hearing this.We are not interested in preparing yoga teachers. We’re interested in practitioners who understand that what happens off the mat is just as important as what happens on it.What are the main pillars of Sattva training?Five things remain constant regardless of program format:

  • Practice – a daily, non-negotiable practice. Not because discipline is perfect, but because consistency produces real changes in the nervous system.
  • Breath and Energy – taught carefully, progressively. Breathwork is powerful and should be done without shortcuts.
  • Meditation – not as a form of relaxation or escape, but as a form of meditation training. Learning to see clearly before acting.
  • Wisdom – Philosophy applies to your actual experience, not recited by memory.
  • Integration – How you live when the practice is over. Without this, yoga becomes a demonstration.

These are not five subjects to study. They are five dimensions of the same practice. What does “entity” actually mean – not as a definition, but as a living thing? It is not mysterious. Sattva is seen in how you react when you are excited, how you speak when you are tired, whether you can pause before reacting and whether that pause comes naturally or you still have to make an effort.Clarity without harshness. Discipline without aggression. Ability to function without unnecessary noise. Most people understand this more clearly when they realize what sattva is not: it is not feeling calm all the time, or achieving any particular meditative state. It is this inherent quality that makes honest action possible. How is Sattva Yoga training different from what most people are used to?Most training is outcome-based: can you teach, demonstrate, demonstrate? Sattva Yoga training is process-driven: Can you sit, listen, pause? We call this not education but initiation. Not because there is anything mysterious in this term, but because what is happening is much more fundamental than learning new information. You are being asked to look at your patterns – how you handle discomfort, how you relate to authority and peers, what happens to your practice when no external structure prevents it.Certification is secondary. The primary question is: how do you live?Do you need to teach to attend any training?no way. Some of the most committed practitioners here have no intention of teaching. They’re professionals, parents, creatives, people whose lives feel overstimulated and whose attention spans are scattered. Training becomes a way to regain rhythm and depth.Whether someone teaches yoga later or not, what they are developing is focus, discipline, flexibility, which is used in every context. What is the atmosphere like during training?Simple, structured, deliberate. early mornings. Continuous practice. Study. silence. Time for contemplation.Rhythm itself is not about intensity. This is for clarity. A certain kind of clarity only emerges when noise is consistently removed. The community itself is part of the learning. Being and practicing with others highlights things that solitary practice doesn’t: impatience, comparison, the gap between how we think and how we actually behave. Sattva Yoga Academy is less a retreat and more a mirror. It is not designed to make you feel good all the time. It is designed to help you see honestly. What changes do people see after serious training? The changes are structural rather than dramatic. Low reactivity. Better attention. Clean sleep. Decisions taken more thoughtfully. The compulsion to gather experience, recognition, or external validation is diminished.People often say that it looks cool from the outside, and that’s right. Internal consistency does not announce itself. But the effects are complex: the quality of relationships changes, tolerance for distractions decreases, and practice deepens not because you’ve learned more, but because you’ve simplified. What are the most common misconceptions about kriya and advanced exercises? That they speed up progress. More technology means more development.Actions are not shortcuts. It is a precision instrument and precision instruments in the wrong circumstances cause harm rather than healing. These practices require preparation: moral, physical, and psychological. Without that foundation, they may create excitement rather than clarity. This is why we are careful about when and how to introduce advanced practices. Not for the gatekeepers, but because preparation is practice. Readiness to receive a teaching is the measure of how far the teaching has worked. What preparation should one realistically do before training?Mostly internal readiness. Ask yourself honestly: Can I sit with the discomfort without immediate distractions? Can I follow a simple routine without external accountability?Practically: some basic mobility helps, a brief daily practice helps more, and reducing digital overstimulation helps more than most people realize. You do not need to arrive early. You need to be available. When is it better not to train yet?If you’re dealing with an injury and aren’t willing to slow down – wait. If you are in a period of severe instability, physically or psychologically, first stabilize. If you’re looking for an escape or expecting rapid, dramatic change, stop by.Training doesn’t solve abstinence. This reveals it. This is not a warning meant to be discouraging; here is the information. The right time to train is when you are ready to be honest with yourself. What happens after the training is over? The structure collapses and this is deliberate. The practice should now stand on its own. This is where people discover what they are really made of.Support continues, but dependency must end. Yoga is to make you self-reliant. The proof of any training is not how you perform during it. This is how you live in the months that follow – with no schedule, no community, no teacher to see how your practice goes.Integration into normal life like work, relationships, small decisions is where training proves itself. What is the most important quality in a person who will really benefit from this path?Stability. No talent. No prior experience. There is no strong desire for change.Whether a person shows up every day, especially when it’s uncomfortable, unmotivated, or unclear, is the most reliable indicator of whether the practice will reshape them. When practice becomes truly consistent, it changes the nervous system, the perception, the baseline response to difficulty. It stops being something you do and becomes something you are. That is not poetic language. The teaching points in this direction.

key takeaways

  • Training is about clarity and discipline, not performance or recognition
  • Sattva is not a feeling; It is an efficiency: the ability to perform a task without unnecessary noise
  • Honesty and consistency matter more than intensity or technique
  • Actions and advanced exercises require preparation – they are not shortcuts.
  • Most real changes are subtle, structural, and visible in ordinary moments
  • Many people train not to become teachers, but for personal clarity and this is completely valid.
  • The real measure of training is what continues after it ends

If you are considering training in 2026

Don’t start with anything dramatic. Start with something you can actually sustain – a short daily practice, a quiet morning, a little more honesty about your meditation.Proper training will not give you a new identity. It will easily, and gradually, remove what was never true. For current training schedules, program formats and faculty details, visit sattvayogaacademy.com. King to make his acting debut with Lukkhe

King, whose real name is Arpan Kumar Chandel, has given many superhit tracks like Maan Meri Jaan, Tu Aake Dekhle among others, which went viral on the internet. Now, the rapper is set to shine on the screen in a new avatar as an actor in the upcoming web series named Lukkhe.

Created and executive produced by Agrim Joshi and Debojit Das Purkayastha, it is an eight-episode series headlined by Raashii Khanna and King. Along with the acclaimed Indian rapper, songwriter, and singer, Lukkhe also stars  Palak Tiwari and Lakshvir Singh Saran in lead roles, along with Nakul Roshan Sahdev, Kritika Bharadwaj, Shivankit Parihar, Yograj Singh, and Ayesha Raza Mishra in pivotal supporting roles. Notably, it also marks the streaming debut of Palak Tiwari. Lukkhe is set to release in over 240 countries and regions worldwide on May 8, 2026.

About Lukkhe

Lukkhe is an intense fictional musical action drama set against the pulsating backdrop of Chandigarh, where rap culture, ambition, and crime intersect. At its core, it is a gripping tale of revenge and redemption, as rival rappers MC Badnaam (King) and OG (Shivankit) are caught in a deeply personal vendetta that blurs the lines between art and animosity. It blends high-octane action, gunfights, and raw musical energy, marking an ultimately coming-of-age story shaped by pain, love, and ambition.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and  Head of Originals, Prime Video, India, says, “At Prime Video, we believe in constantly raising the bar by experimenting with storytelling, whether it’s blending genres, exploring new formats, or championing unconventional narratives. Lukkhe is a strong reflection of this vision, bringing together high-octane action with pulsating rap music, while seamlessly balancing pace with emotional intensity to create a truly distinctive world. At its heart, the series is a compelling story of revenge and redemption, driven by complex characters and the choices they make. With KING and Palak Tiwari making their OTT debuts alongside a stellar ensemble cast, we are confident Lukkhe will be loved by audiences in India and across 240 countries and territories when it premieres on May 8.”

Shane Warne`s son says COVID vaccines caused legend`s death

Jackson, Shane Warne`s son, has claimed that the spin legend`s death was most likely brought on by the “three or four” COVID vaccines that he was “forced to take for work,” four years after his death shocked the cricket community.

However, Jackson also acknowledged his father`s underlying health problems when speaking on the “2 Worlds Collide podcast.” In 2022, Warne passed away in Thailand at the age of 52 following a heart attack.

“I definitely think that it (COVID vaccine) was involved. I don`t even think saying that is controversial anymore. Even if dad had underlying health issues, I think this brought it out right to the surface, and that`s one thing that I`ve always struggled with,” Jackson said.

“My first impression, as soon as I hung up the phone (after receiving the news of Warne`s death), I instantly blamed the government. I instantly blamed COVID and the vaccine.”

Jackson claimed that throughout the memorial service, he could not contain his true feelings.

“It was probably smart I didn`t, I would be in a very different position if I did. But that was how I felt,” Jackson said.

“Yes, a lot of people were dying of heart attacks before. But dad was okay, I think he might have got three or four (vaccine doses), he didn`t want to get them, he was forced to get them for work. He was forced to get them like everybody else,” he added.

“I try not to think about it too much because all that does is fester into anger. That anger is not good for anybody,” he said.

Jackson Warne opens up about his dad`s lifestyle

Giving an insight into the lifestyle of his father, who was known to be indulgent, Jackson said it was relatively healthy despite the smoking and drinking.
“Dad, at the time, was healthy; he was happy. He looked the best he had in a while. Yes, he smoked and drank, but so many more people in their 80s and 90s still smoke and drink a lot more than dad,” he said.

A few months before his passing, Warne had caught COVID while coaching at The Hundred in England in 2021. However, at the time of his death, he was not known to have any serious illness.
