NEW DELHI: Praful Hinge announced himself on the grand stage by dismantling Rajasthan Royals’ top order and putting their run chase in complete disarray at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday. The young pacer broke the backbone of RR’s batting by removing their top three batters for ducks, delivering a dream spell in his very first over.Praful Hinge dismissed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (golden duck), Dhruv Jurel (duck), and Lhuan-dre Pretorius (duck) in a sensational opening burst. In a script that felt straight out of a fairytale, the Nagpur-born bowler became the first in IPL history to take three wickets in the opening over of an innings.Sunrisers Hyderabad, powered by skipper Ishan Kishan’s 44-ball 91, posted a strong 216 for 6 before bowling Rajasthan Royals out for 159 in 19 overs. I didn’t even know what leather-ball cricket was back then. When I was 13, I told my father that I wanted to join a club. He refused a couple of times, saying I was too young. But somehow, things started from there. After that, I just kept playing. Standing at this stage, it feels really good. I want to dedicate this award to my family. They’ve made a lot of sacrifices for me. I just want to say, their hard work and sacrifices mean everything,” Hinge said after the match.Hinge finished with figures of 4/34 from his four overs.Sooryavanshi was beaten for pace on the first ball and the resulting top edge went straight up, allowing wicketkeeper Salil Arora to complete a simple catch. Hinge then trapped Dhruv Jurel with a delivery that landed outside off and nipped back in, taking an inside edge before crashing into the stumps.Pretorius attempted a flick but failed to clear Nitish Reddy at deep backward square leg, ending a historic opening over that stunned the opposition.“The best one was the first wicket of Sooryavanshi, because he was in form. I had already told a couple of people that I would get him out on the very first ball, either with a bouncer or in some way. I just wanted his wicket on the first ball. That was the plan,” Hinge said.“Also, our bowling coach Varun bhai helped me a lot. And I’m thankful to everyone who supported me. (injuries in the past) Everything is fine now. I want to thank MRF for taking really good care of me. When I was there, Naveen sir, the physio, looked after me very well. Amid the chaos, the actor appears visibly irritated and is seen in a tense exchange with someone from her team, though it remains unclear what the argument was about or whether the person was indeed her staff.
At one point, she seems to lose her cool and is heard asking Saif, “What is happening?” The family eventually makes their way into the lift a few minutes later.
After the brief chaos, Kareena was later seen enjoying the match with her family at Wankhede Stadium, appearing far more relaxed. The actor was spotted smiling and soaking in the match as she enjoyed the game.

Having played a Test match for India at the Wankhede in 1977, played cricket in Mumbai as a registered MCA cricketer from 1973, being in the Managing Committee in 1989 and 1990 apart from being a Chief Guest at many MCA tournaments/ functions, one has to still endure such humiliation. The Test player pass story has haunted me for the last four to five years; often ending up being given one in the stands as a goodwill gesture. I guess one has to accept that the past is irrelevant — “What do they know of cricket, that only cricket know?”
One wonders if the people at MCA know who penned this and I don’t expect them to know about CLR James. This piece is not to seek sympathy, it is to highlight the reality that many former cricketers face.

Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty starrer ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ has seen a sharp drop in collections on its fourth day. The science fiction romantic comedy registered a 60 percent decline from Sunday’s earnings. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 3 crore net on Monday, taking its India net total to Rs 25.50 crore. The worldwide gross now stands at Rs 38.50 crore.
Day 4 collections and drop for ‘LIK’
On its first Monday, ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ collected a net of Rs 3.00 Cr across 3,721 shows. This marks a significant 60% drop from Day 3’s Rs 7.50 Cr.Occupancy fell to 20.3% on Monday, showing a clear slowdown after the weekend.
Language-wise performance
The Tamil version led collections with Rs 2.40 Cr on Day 4 at 21% occupancy. The Telugu version added 60 lakhs with 19% occupancy. The film added Rs 70 lakhs from overseas markets on Day 4. This takes the total overseas gross to Rs 9.00 Cr.With India gross at Rs 29.50 Cr, the worldwide collection now stands at Rs 38.50 Cr after four days.
Mixed reviews for Pradeep Ranganathan’s film
The movie is getting mixed reviews online. One viewer wrote, “The futuristic rom-com Love Insurance Kompany is a mixed experience that squanders a brilliant premise on a weak and shallow screenplay. While the idea of a world where love is controlled by a high-tech app is ‘terrific’ for a sci-fi script, the film fails to give the story any real emotional depth. Pradeep Ranganathan is energetic as Vasu, the man who tries to prove that human feelings are more powerful than a computer algorithm. His chemistry with S. J. Suryah’s villainous CEO is the highlight of the movie, as their face-off scenes provide the only real spark of excitement. Krithi Shetty looks beautiful on screen, but her character often feels like a flat archetype of a social media addict rather than a real person we should care about.”Another comment read, “Good concept and many unique things were wasted by weak screenplay, fake acting, no emotional connection. Not sure why Keerthi Shetty’s acting was very fake not able to connect. What makes PR to fall in that much of love on Keerthi Shetty (infact gauri Kishan’s acting was far better than Keerthi) yogi babu’s comedy were irritating than fun. So many insta stars, so many scenes were like insta reels (we paid for watching movie not insta reels), PR same old acting and mannerisms like in dragon, dude which is like repeating again and again. So much of money being used useless. First half were irritating like anything. Music is also like insta reels music.”

His spell helped Sunrisers Hyderabad register a commanding 57-run victory over Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.“I wrote it down somewhere that I could take four or five wickets on debut,” Hinge said after bagging his Player of the Match award on debut.After Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a massive 216/6, powered by a blistering 91 off 44 balls from captain Ishan Kishan, Hinge set the tone with a fiery opening burst that dismantled the chase almost immediately. His three-wicket first over effectively shattered the table-toppers’ hopes of chasing 217 before the innings could even settle.Hinge finished with a remarkable opening spell of 2-0-6-4, tearing through RR’s in-form top order and guiding SRH to their first defeat for the visitors in five matches.“I had written this somewhere that I will take 4-5 wickets on my debut. The US and Iran failed to reach a peace deal at their historic 21-hour talks in Pakistan, leaving the fate of a tenuous two-week ceasefire in doubt, with both sides attempting to hold each other responsible for the collapse of the negotiations.Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, jumped 7.73 per cent to $102.6 per barrel.In Asian markets, South Korea’s benchmark Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index ended lower, while Shanghai’s SSE Composite index settled marginally higher.European markets were trading lower.“Markets continue to derive limited support from last week’s ceasefire framework, which remains intact for now and is encouraging selective buying interest along with a buy-on-dips approach. This comes despite an initial negative reaction to the breakdown of US–Iran peace talks and the announcement of a US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, which pushed crude prices above $100/bbl,” Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments Limited, said, PTI quoted.Elevated oil prices are raising concerns around inflation, currency stability, and broader macro balances, thereby weighing on overall sentiment, Nair added.US markets ended on a mixed note on Friday.“The weakness was primarily driven by escalating geopolitical tensions following the collapse of US-Iran talks, which triggered a sharp spike in crude oil prices and weighed on global sentiment,” Ajit Mishra, SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd, said.The BSE MidCap Select index dropped 0.82 per cent and SmallCap Select index declined 0.33 per cent.Auto edged lower by 2.10 per cent, followed by Energy (1.34 per cent), Services (1.31 per cent), Oil & Gas (1.25 per cent), Consumer Discretionary (1.21 per cent), IT (1.17 per cent), and BSE Focused IT (1.02 per cent).Telecommunication, Utilities and Power were the winners.A total of 2,573 stocks declined, while 1,790 advanced and 201 remained unchanged on the BSE.Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) turned buyers on Friday, buying stocks worth Rs 672.09 crore, according to exchange data. Actor-director Rajat Kapoor, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming streaming film Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa, has spoken up about how his friendship with actor Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak reflects in their work when they collaborate.
The actors, who go a long way back, have been friends for over 30 years and have collaborated frequently. However, the three of them came together for the first time in 18 years after Mithya.
The three actors spoke with IANS during the promotions of Everybody Loves Sohrab Handain the Juhu area of Mumbai. Rajat shared that their friendship allows each of them to push their creative boundaries.
He told IANS, “It does not matter what film we make together or what play we do together, whether it is a dark comedy or thriller, the fact that there is immense love and trust as friends and as collaborators amongst all of us, that is very important”.
He further mentioned, “I think that helps us to push the boundaries a little more every time. I can ask them for more and they trust me enough to give more of themselves, and really and they push themselves to the limits to get the perfect shot or to capture the perfect moment on camera. So, I think that really helps in any kind of new creation. And I think that comes out of this privilege of having trusted friends over a period of time”.
Their friendship dates back to their early years in theatre and independent cinema. All three were associated with Mumbai’s English theatre circuit and later became key collaborators in India’s alternative film movement of the 2000s.
Their professional collaborations have been built on mutual trust, similar acting sensibilities, and a preference for unconventional scripts. Rajat Kapoor has directed both of them in multiple projects. Their friendship reflects a shared journey through theatre, indie filmmaking, and mainstream recognition.
