Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been profuse in his praise and appreciation for the works of other actors and filmmakers. Over the years, he has used his social media platforms to praise a wide range of films, from Animal and Dhurandhar to Subedaar. However, in a recent interview, when he was asked why the same is not reciprocated, the filmmaker admitted the industry only likes to praise things that are successful.

Anurag is currently starring in the Telugu-Hindi actioner Dacoit, alongside Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. While promoting the film, Anurag spoke to Zoom in an interaction, where he was asked about if the industry hesitates in praising each other. “A lot of people tell me you praise so many films, but nobody does that for your film. The thing is I love films. So, when I like something, I say it. Koi nahi bolta main kya karoon (what do I do). Can’t make them do that at gunpoint,” the filmmaker said.

At that point, Mrunal, his co-star, added that there are very few people in the industry who genuinely praise others. Anurag chimed in, “Industry ka abhi hai, when things become successful, everyone will say that (support).”

Anurag’s recent praise for films

Last month, Anurag praised Anil Kapoor-starrer Subedaar with a long note on Instagram. He reviewed the movie and wrote, “SUBEDAAR on @primevideoin should have been a theatrical. Would have loved to experience it in cinemas; it’s clearly shot on anamorphic for the big screen, designed for the big screen. @sureshtriveni_ creates an immersive world of Bundelkhand/Chambal, complete with its patriarchy and entitlement. Where women are as patriarchal as men and those who aren’t, they fight like a man in these male-dominated hinterlands of the beehad that once gave rise to Phoolan Devi.”

Earlier this month, he praised Ranveer Singh for his dedication amid the praise the actor is getting for Dhurandhar 2. “We are hearing stories about Dhurandhar and how he and Arjun Rampal injured and hurt each other. So, that’s how far they went for the role, and the film got amazing numbers, right? But Ranveer Singh, in his second film Lootera, when he gets shot in the climax, to feel that right feeling, he took a clip without telling anyone and clipped himself on the stomach. He went so far as an actor to create that; we had to take him to the hospital. The film didn’t do the numbers of Dhurandhar, but it’s that man’s conviction. He didn’t share his pain with anyone. Nobody came to know till he couldn’t move.”

Dacoit, directed by debutant Shaneil Deo, stars Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur alongside Anurag in his Telugu debut. The film released on Friday to lukewarm reviews and a rather dull opening day collection.

The Delhi government has unveiled the draft Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026–2030, outlining a roadmap to curb air pollution and promote clean mobility in the national capital. With vehicular emissions contributing nearly 23% of the city’s pollution, the policy focuses on accelerating the shift to electric vehicles while strengthening the ecosystem needed to support their widespread adoption.The new draft builds on the earlier EV policy introduced in August 2020, which had a three-year term ending in August 2023 and has since been extended. Officials say the updated framework seeks to expand on previous efforts to curb vehicular pollution and accelerate the transition to cleaner transport. The draft offers incentives like a 100% road tax waiver for electric cars, along with benefits and updated rules for two-, three-, and four-wheelers. It also aims to expand charging infrastructure, build a stronger EV ecosystem, and encourage a gradual move away from petrol and diesel vehicles. Focused on cutting emissions, which make up about 23% of Delhi’s pollution, the policy is linked to the Right to Clean Air under Article 21, highlighting a stronger push to improve air quality in the capital.

Here’s what Delhi government’s new EV draft policy has proposed:

  1. Full tax exemption for affordable EV carsElectric cars priced up to Rs 30 lakh will get 100% exemption on road tax and registration fees till March 31, 2030. The policy states, “Electric cars with ex-showroom price above (Rs) 30 lakh registered in Delhi shall not be granted any exemption from road tax and registration fees.” However, vehicles priced above this threshold will not be eligible for such benefits. The draft also proposes a 50% exemption for strong hybrid vehicles.
  2. What’s new for 2 wheelers?

    The government has also listed out intensives for two wheelers. To be eligible for incentives, the ex-factory price of an electric two-wheeler must not exceed Rs 2.25 lakh.
    In the first year from the date of notification, buyers will receive Rs 10,000 per kWh, capped at Rs 30,000. This incentive reduces to Rs 6,600 per kWh (up to Rs 20,000) in the second year, and further to Rs 3,300 per kWh (up to Rs 10,000) in the third year.

  3. Push for electric three-wheelers

    From January 1, 2027, only electric three-wheelers will be allowed for new registrations in Delhi. Furthermore, the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) is also set to provide the following incentives to encourage the adoption of electric-rickshaws in the national capital:

    Year 2 (from date of notification) Rs 40,000
    Year 3 (from date of notification) Rs 30,000
  4. Slow transition to electric vehicles

    The draft has proposed phased electrification of school bus fleets. This applies to all school buses, owned, leased, or hired.

    10% electric within 2 years
    20% within 3 years
    30% by March 31, 2030

    Furthermore, it also mandates electrification of government fleets. All hired or leased vehicles under the Delhi government will be only electric from the date of notification, except exempted categories. New buses inducted by the Transport Department and DTC will also be electric, with provisions for cleaner alternatives like hydrogen if introduced.

    Additionally, all new N1 category trucks procured by government bodies and civic agencies will be only electric. Here’s the incentive structure, based on the year of registration:

    Year 3 (from date of notification) Rs 50,000
  5. Restrictions on conventional fleet operators

    Fleet aggregators and delivery service providers will not be allowed to induct new petrol or diesel vehicles after notified timelines, with limited exceptions for certain categories till December 2026.
  6. Expansion of EV charging and swapping infrastructure

    Land-owning agencies will identify sites for public charging and battery swapping stations All new buildings and infrastructure projects must be EV charging-ready Delhi Transco Limited will handle planning, deployment, and reliability of charging networks
  7. Battery waste management and recycling push

    Strict compliance with Battery Waste Management Rules and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Establishment of battery collection centres across Delhi through partnerships.
  8. Creation of a dedicated EV Fund

    A separate EV Fund will be set up under the Transport Department to finance implementation, supported by budget allocations, grants, cess, and other sources. Furthermore, a committee led by the Transport Minister will oversee implementation of the policy and management of the EV Fund. Transport Department to act as nodal agency Environment Department to track emission reductions Urban bodies to support infrastructure rollout Education Department to ensure compliance and run awareness campaigns.
  9. Fully digital implementation system

    All processes including approvals, applications, disbursements, and grievance redressal will be conducted in a paperless digital format.
  10. Public feedback

    The government has also invited public feedback for the proposed reforms. In an official circular, the government said, “The draft Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2026 is hereby uploaded on the official website of Transport Department, GNCTD for the information of general public. All stakeholders including general public are invited to submit their feedback/comments within 30 days from the date of publication through the following modes: 1. By e-mail: evpolicy2026@gmail.com 2. By Post: Joint Commissioner (EV), Transport Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, 5/9 Underhill Road, Delhi- 110054.”

It further clarified, “All inputs/representations may kindly be submitted only through the above- mentioned modes. In this regard, the public is humbly requested to avoid visiting the office premises, as the same may cause unnecessary crowding. No objections or suggestions received after the expiry of the said period shall be considered.”Earlier this year, on March 20, CM Rekha Gupta flagged off 300 new electric buses and announced the launch of interstate bus services connecting Delhi with Ghaziabad. A foundation stone was also laid for a new Delhi Transport Corporation office near the IP depot.Meanwhile, health minister Pankaj Kumar Singh had noted the pace of adoption, stating, “After our government came to power, we registered more than 1 lakh EV vehicles. There are many reasons why EVs are not advancing further. The previous government did not provide subsidies for EVs. We are providing those subsidies, but if the previous government had given subsidies, perhaps the people of Delhi would have made more efforts to adopt EVs.“

Turning heads with his ripped physique and hard-hitting punches in the global hit Bloodhounds 2, South Korean star Woo Do Hwan reveals he is actually not a huge fan of boxing beyond the set.

“Outside of the boxing ring and the filming days, I am not a huge fan of the sport. I like to keep it very nice and peaceful. I would actually love to grab a cup of coffee instead,” he says with a laugh, on a Zoom call from Seoul.

It is this duality that makes Gun Woo, his reel character in the Netflix action thriller, endearing — an amateur boxer who risks life and limb for justice and to protect his people, even as his smooth jabs and cuts mask a deeply sensitive man.

Returning to the show after the success of its premiere season in 2023, Do Hwan admits the character remains his most special till date. “It has been three years but this character never left me. Even when I am not filming and not in character, he has always stayed with me, and it was wonderful to meet him again.”

He adds the gentle giant persona is what has clicked with the audience. ‘This guy is strong but a real softie, and perhaps that is why people love watching him and root for him when he is fighting. For me as an actor, I enjoyed that dichotomy.’ He further adds that though playing Gun Woo was easy to relate to many levels. ‘Not as much as Gun Woo, but I would also like to think that I am as good a person as he is at heart. But where we share a commonality is the attitude that there’s nothing you can’t do if you really put your effort into it.

Directed by Kim Joo Hwan (Midnight Runners), the latest season pits Do Hwan against a dangerous adversary played by one of K pop and Korean screen’s favourite icons, Rain, in a never seen before avatar. He is Baek Jeong, a fearsome boxer running an illegal bare knuckle fight club. The face off between the two is nothing less than an adrenaline high and has been hailed as one of the best this season.

“Even when we didn’t have any filming days, we would get together to practice and make sure that our action sequences lined up well, and the chemistry and synergy looked real. We spent a lot of time and effort discussing how we could make the scenes better. And honestly, he’s someone that I look up to and really rely on a lot. I think we did that mutually, but me even more so, because he has so much more experience than any one of us,” says Do Hwan.

Do Hwan’s would love to be part of Indian production

33 year old Do Hwan who has built a reputation of playing the action hero in shows such as My Country: The New Age, The King: Eternal Monarch, including the film The Divine Fury, says he is excited to learn that he and the show have a loyal fan following in India.

With Indian cinema’s tendency to romance the action hero, when asked if he would be willing to take a shot at it, he breaks into a smile. “If there’s a great story or script, or if the circumstances align, I would love to be a part of an Indian production.”

From his first lead role in the romantic melodrama The Great Seducer in 2018, to last being seen in the 2024 romantic comedy Mr Plankton, Do Hwan’s decade in showbiz has been marked with consistently strong performances. Reflecting on his work and craft, he admits that he feels a deeper sense of responsibility since he debuted at age 25. “I am strongly inclined to put others before my own needs. I would say. What hasn’t changed about me is the fact that I always like to prioritize what kind of message I want to share or convey through each of my projects.”

He adds he would love to do a comedy if a good script and project came his way.

When we remind him of the many social media reels calling him the real plot, he responds bashfully “It just goes to show how much support and love all the fans out there are sending me. I’m really motivated and grateful as well as energised and it makes me want to do an even better job if we have a third season.”

Singer Monali Thakur has set a new benchmark by releasing not one, not two, but three of her songs in a single day. Her EP titled Butterflies features three tracks – Nai Milna Ve, Piya/I Wanna, and Butterflies. Butterflies is all about that rush of being in love – the nervous energy, and the stolen moments, whereas Nai Milna Ve is a dreamy, bittersweet take on unrequited love. Piya/I Wanna deals with irresistible attraction, that uncontrollable, consuming feeling you get when you’re deeply drawn to someone.

Speaking about her latest venture, Monali shared, “For many years, I’ve wanted to release my EPs, albums, and singles independently, to have full creative control and to explore sounds and sonic spaces that I personally love. I listen to a wide variety of music, and I’ve always wanted to express that side of me. So I’m honestly very happy and excited that I’m finally able to put this out.”

Excited to expand her horizon with Butterflies, she added, “People know me for sweet, innocent, romantic songs from my Bollywood journey. But I have a very strong and diverse mind, with so many different sounds and thoughts constantly playing in my head. I’m really excited to explore different themes and put that out through my music now.”

“My fans have been asking me for years why I’m not singing more, and I’m finally happy that I have something to share with them. There’s still more to the story that I’ll talk about later, but for now, I just hope my music reaches more people and that my listeners know they can now find me in this space — being completely uninhibited and honest with my music,” said the singer.

The lyrics of these songs have been provided by Kunaal Verma, with the music scored by Keshav Tyohar. “I’m very thankful for the way Kunaal and Keshav have added so much value to these songs,” Monali concluded.

Days after late businessman Sunjay Kapur’s widow, Priya S Kapur, removed his mother, Rani Kapur, from the RK family trust, the latter has now spoken out about the ₹30,000 crore inheritance dispute following her son’s death in June 2025, and how it has affected her.

Rani shares, “It’s been a very difficult time for the family, very traumatic for me. I lost my only son. I was always with him, I was living with him. We went on holidays. I was with him in the UK when he passed. I’m very emotional and very upset about it. I have to take sleeping pills at night to sleep, thinking about what we have, what my son has done.”

Speaking about how the automotive technology company Sona Comstar came to be, she adds, “My husband (Surinder Kapur, the founder of the Sona Group) built the factory and the work. We were living in Mumbai and moved to Delhi later, and I was very happy. We had family there, but the house was my own creation, and she (Priya) now thinks that she owns everything, which is not going to happen as long as I am alive. I’m not going to let her do that.”

Choosing to place her faith in the judicial system, the 80-year-old Kapur matriarch says, “It’s sad that he married this girl. That’s all she wanted. And now she thinks that she can take over. It’s not possible. There is a law in this country. The law exists, and I have to have her out of my life.”

Rani is currently living in Mumbai and has not returned to her Delhi home since Sunjay’s passing. She alleges that Priya did not allow her to take her belongings.

“After Sunjay passed away, we had a paath two to three days later. She (Priya) came and told me, ‘I’m going to go pick up my son’, who she had left with her sister in London. I said, ‘OK.’ Then I took a flight to Mumbai, and after that she never asked me why I wasn’t coming back. She hasn’t even allowed me to come back to Delhi and take my own things from my own house,” says Rani, who now calls her daughters, Mandhira and Superna, her only family.

On equation with Karisma Kapoor

Talking about the bond she shares with Sunjay Kapur’s ex-wife, actor Karisma Kapoor and their children Samaira and Kiaan, Rani says, “I’ve always had a good relationship with Karisma; she has grown up in this house. The girls have grown up together. It’s the world that presumes things and writes about it. But it doesn’t bother me. I still meet her all the time. I go on holidays with her and the kids, so there’s nothing stopping me from that. I love Samaira and Kiaan; they are my grandchildren.”
