Ravi Kishan has strongly backed the success of Aditya Dhar‘s Dhurandhar franchise starring Ranveer Singh, calling it a “wake-up call” for the film industry while dismissing criticism labelling it as propaganda. In a recent conversation, the actor spoke about the film’s impact, its reception, and why he believes it marks the arrival of a “new cinema”.

‘It’s not just a film… it’s a mirror to society’

Praising the film, Ravi Kishan told ABP Live, “Dhurandhar is a big eye-opener for new-age cinema. It’s not just a film—it’s a truth. It has come as a mirror to society.”He added, “It shows what happened in the past, the kind of conspiracies that take place in the country—even by people living within it.”Lauding its craft, he said, “This truth has been presented with strong editing, powerful background score, and intense performances—full of energy and madness.”

‘This is not propaganda’

Reacting to the debate around the film, he said, “It’s unfortunate that people are calling it propaganda. This is not propaganda—it’s a film.”Crediting the story’s origin, he added, “A young filmmaker, a Kashmiri Pandit (Aditya Dhar), has beautifully portrayed his pain and patriotism.”He also praised Ranveer Singh and the team, saying, “Ranveer Singh and the entire team have put their heart and soul into it.”Taking a dig at critics, he remarked, “If you are weak, don’t try to pull down someone else’s success. Look at your own shortcomings and create something new.”

They are watching it secretly—even pirated versions are trending.”According to him, “The South industry has embraced the film wholeheartedly. Genuine filmmakers have welcomed it. It’s creating history.”

‘A new cinema has been born’

Calling it a turning point, he said, “This is a wake-up call. A new cinema has been born—a new era of filmmaking has begun.”He explained, “The key is how you present truth with entertainment. NEW DELHI: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have made a key change to their squad for IPL 2026 by bringing in South African all-rounder George Linde as a replacement for Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga. Hasaranga, aged 28, has been ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury he suffered during Sri Lanka’s opening match in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.The franchise had earlier hinted at this move, with LSG’s Director of Cricket Tom Moody saying, “We are preparing for the fact that he isn’t going to be able to join us. We are looking at replacements, that should be announced in 24-48 hours.”

34-year-old Linde, a left-handed batter and slow left-arm spinner, will be playing in the IPL for the first time. He brings plenty of experience, having represented South Africa across formats and played in several T20 leagues worldwide. In 37 T20 international matches, he has scored over 400 runs and taken 35 wickets, showing his value as a useful all-rounder.Though his recent form has been modest, including a quiet series against New Zealand, his overall record remains strong, with more than 200 wickets in T20 cricket. LSG have signed him at his base price, hoping he can add balance and depth to the squad. With captain Rishabh Pant leading the side, LSG will aim to make the most of this change as they continue their campaign. The team is coming off a close win and will next face Gujarat Titans at their home ground in Lucknow. Linde’s inclusion could give them more options with both bat and ball as they push forward in the tournament.

IPL 2026: RCB score 201 runs after 20 overs; Patidar scores 63

Royal Challengers Bengaluru recovered from a tough start to put 201 runs on board at the halfway mark of the match. Captain Rajat Patidar was the star with the bat as he scored 63 runs in 40 balls to recover the RCB innings.

Phil Salt was dismissed for a first-ball duck by Jofra Archer, who was on the mark from the first ball. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal built a partnership together before Padikkal was dismissed for 14.

Virat Kohli was the star of RCB`s batting in the powerplay as he scored 32 off just 16 balls. However, the Indian star was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi. Kohli`s wicket started a free fall for RCB as they lost 5 wickets by the end of 10 overs.

Captain Rajat Patidar scored 63 runs in 40 balls to take RCB to 201 runs at the end of 20 overs. Romario Shepherd scored 22 runs in 11 balls to support him.

For RR, Archer was the star as he took 2/33 from his 3 overs. Bishnoi was back among wickets too as he took 2/32 in just 2 overs. Brijesh Sharma took 2/37 in his four overs.

Having won the toss, RR decided to bowl first.

“We`re going to be bowling. It was supposed to be a dry wicket, but it has been raining for the last couple of days and it rained a bit today as well. So there`s going to be a little moisture. We`re trying to extract it, but it seems like a really good wicket. Feels great. I think we`ve been very clinical before the start of the tournament. My message to the team was that we want to be a really pure team that plays really strategic cricket, really smart cricket. So hopefully we keep on assessing and adapting as we have been in the first three games and hopefully come up with really good points.” Riyan Parag said.

Playing XI for both teams:

Rajasthan Royals (Playing XI): Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel(w), Riyan Parag(c), Shimron Hetmyer, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Sandeep Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi, Brijesh Sharma

Jana Nayagan makers take legal action as Vijay’s final film is leaked online: ‘Everyone shall face criminal proceedings’

Tamil superstar Vijay’s much-anticipated final film, Jana Nayagan, has been leaked online ahead of its theatrical release, sending shockwaves across the industry. In response, the makers have confirmed that they have initiated legal action against those responsible and have issued a warning to audiences against downloading or sharing the film through unauthorised sources.

Jana Nayagan is touted to be Vijay's last film.

Jana Nayagan makers take legal action

Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, was leaked online amid the long tussle to release it in theatres. On Thursday night, several clips from the film were shared on social media, and by Friday morning, HD prints of the full film were uploaded to piracy sites. The leak, which comes just before Vijay’s entry into politics with the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, has rattled the Tamil film industry.

The makers’ legal team has issued a legal notice after the film was leaked online. A notice issued on behalf of KVN Productions, the film’s producer, revealed that they are mulling legal action.

The legal notice read, “I am the legal counsel for KVN Productions LLP and issue this Public Notice under the instructions of my client. My client is the Producer of the film Jana Nayagan starring Vijay, directed by H. Vinoth and with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film has been produced by investing several hundred crores and the film carries enormous theatrical, satellite, OTT and commercial value.”

“It has come to my client’s notice with utmost shock and urgency that certain scenes from the film Jana Nayagan have been illegally accessed, downloaded, copied and circulated by certain persons and forwarded to several third parties, creating a serious threat of digital leakage through various social media platforms,” it added.

Through the notice, the production house stressed that they will take strict action against anyone caught circulating pirated content or unauthorised clips on X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, websites, torrents or any other digital space.

“It is hereby informed that any downloading, forwarding, sharing, uploading, reposting, storing or circulating of such leaked scenes or clips of the Film Jana Nayagan through WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, websites, torrents or any other digital medium amounts to serious criminal offence and copyright violation and every person involved shall be individually liable for Criminal action. My client has already initiated appropriate legal action against the person who unlawfully downloaded and forwarded scenes from the film Jana Nayagan, and further proceedings are actively being pursued against all persons involved in such illegal circulation,” it read.

The notice further read, “It is informed to public that not to download, receive, store, forward, share or circulate any leaked content relating to Jana Nayagan in any manner whatsoever through any digital or social media platform. Any person found hereafter involved in such acts shall face immediate civil and criminal proceedings at their own risk as to consequences.”

More about the film

Jana Nayagan has been billed as the final film of actor Vijay. It was set for release in theatres on January 9, but was delayed after CBFC did not certify it in time.

The film has been stuck without a censor certificate for several months. Reports indicate that the film was first screened for the CBFC examining committee in December 2025. The committee reportedly suggested several cuts and indicated that the film could receive a U/A certificate once the changes were made. Producers are said to have accepted the recommendations and resubmitted the film.

However, the situation changed when complaints about certain scenes led to the film being referred to a revising committee, causing further delays. The prolonged certification process has disrupted the film’s release plans, international schedules, and distribution agreements.

Directed by H Vinoth, the film stars actors Vijay, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju. Jana Nayagan is Vijay’s final film, as he intends to focus on his political career with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. A release date for the film has still not been announced.

IPL: Starting with Sachin Tendulkar's decision, Rohit Sharma completes 15 years at MI

MUMBAI: A remarkable journey in the IPL reached a major milestone on Thursday as Rohit Sharma completed 15 years with the Mumbai Indians (MI), a franchise he has led to five IPL titles, building a legacy that will be hard to match and will inspire future generations.Rohit began his IPL career with Deccan Chargers (2008-10) before joining MI in 2011, a move strongly backed by Sachin Tendulkar, who captained the side then. “It was Tendulkar’s decision that MI must buy Rohit, back in 2011. It happened right in front of me,” Tendulkar’s close friend and former Mumbai seamer Atul Ranade told TOI.

It was on April 10, 2011, that Rohit made his MI debut against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) at the Feroz Shah Kotla. He scored an unbeaten 27 in a comfortable eight-wicket win, sharing a match-winning stand with Tendulkar. Reflecting on that phase, Rohit had said, “It was an emotional moment for me to join MI. It was like coming back to my home.”Rohit’s career with MI took a defining turn in 2013 when he was handed the captaincy mid-season after Ricky Ponting stepped down. The ‘Hitman’ immediately delivered, guiding MI to their maiden IPL title that year and later the Champions League T20 crown.Between 2013 and 2020, Rohit led MI to five IPL titles, establishing himself as the franchise’s most successful captain. Despite the leadership change, Rohit remains MI’s highest run-scorer, with 5,994 runs in 230 matches, along with the most centuries and Player of the Match awards for the team. In recognition of his contribution, a stand at the Wankhede Stadium was named after him last year. The veteran opener started IPL 2026 strongly, scoring 78 against Kolkata Knight Riders, followed by 35 against Delhi Capitals. A bitter legal battle has erupted within the Kapur family following the death of businessman Sunjay Kapur, with his mother Rani Kapur and daughter-in-law Priya Sachdev locked in a dispute over the RK Family Trust. In a recent interaction, Rani Kapur opened up about the ongoing feud, alleging wrongdoing and vowing to fight the case till the end.

‘I will fight till I die… she wants to take over everything’

Reacting to her removal from the trust, Rani Kapur told NDTV, “I think it’s very wrong of her. She entered my family seven years ago… If my husband was alive, he wouldn’t have allowed this.”She added, “The RK Family Trust was formed by my husband, and it will stay like that always. I don’t know how she has come in and now wants to take over my house and everything. I’m not going to allow it. I will fight till I die.”

‘I was in no condition… she made me sign papers’

Making serious allegations, Rani Kapur claimed she was made to sign documents shortly after her son’s death.“Three days after my son’s funeral, we had just come from London. She took me to the office. I was in no condition to sign or read anything. She made me sign papers,” she said.Recalling the moment, she added, “When I came out, my daughters asked me what I had signed. I said I don’t know—I was crying.”Calling the documents invalid, she said, “I should sue her for that… I signed a whole lot of papers without reading them. Bombay HC clarifies it has jurdisdiction to hear Kaithi vs Bholaa copyright suit

A legal dispute emerged in March 2026, when Dream Warrior Pictures, the producers of the Tamil film Kaithi, moved the Bombay High Court against Ajay Devgn Films and Reliance Entertainment, the makers of the Hindi remake Bholaa, for alleged breach of contract and copyright infringement. Now, the Bombay High Court has responded to the matter, stating that it does have jurisdiction to hear Dream Warrior Pictures’ suit.

Bombay HC agrees to hear Bholaa vs Kaithi suit

According to Bar and Bench, “The Bombay High Court has held that it does have jurisdiction to hear Dream Warrior Pictures’ suit against Reliance Entertainment and Ajay Devgn Ffilms over Bholaa, the 2023 Hindi remake of Tamil hit Kaithi. Justice Sharmila Deshmukh pronounced the order today.”

The court reportedly rejected the makers’ objection that only Chennai courts had jurisdiction over the lawsuit. Dream Warrior alleges unpaid dues under the 2023 remake agreements and, as a result, seeks to halt Bholaa’s distribution. The case will next be heard in the Bombay High Court on April 30.

About the Bholaa vs Kaithi dispute

Bholaa, starring Ajay Devgn, was released in 2023. The film was also produced and directed by him. It was the official Hindi adaptation of the 2019 Tamil film Kaithi, which starred Karthi. Almost three years after the release of Bholaa, the original makers, Dream Warrior Pictures, initiated legal proceedings, claiming that it remains the sole owner of the original film’s copyright and remake rights. They accused the makers of Bholaa of violating copyright and remake rights.

After the release of Bholaa on March 30, 2023, a tripartite agreement was signed on April 1, 2023, involving Dream Warrior Pictures, Reliance Entertainment, and Ajay Devgn Ffilms LLP. Dream Warrior Pictures alleged that the second and third instalments due under the earlier agreement, scheduled for April 29 and May 29, 2023, were not paid. The company also stated that it sent multiple reminders to the parties seeking payments and financial disclosures through 2023 and 2024; however, they did not receive any response.

On October 28, 2024, the Tamil production house issued a legal notice demanding Rs 4 crore along with interest. The notice also warned the makers that failure to clear dues within 30 days would lead to termination of the agreement and reversion of all rights.
