Composer-singer Shekhar Ravjiani, one-half of the popular composer duo Vishal-Shekhar, took to social media to reveal his battle with a health condition that caused him to lose his voice two years ago due to left vocal cord paresis.
Speaking to us about the “difficult phase”, Shekhar says, “Losing my voice was by far the most traumatic experience of my life. Even contemplating a life where I might not be able to sing was the most frightening thought. It was extremely hard to stay positive when something so precious was being taken away from me. I suddenly had no voice and just air coming out instead. The phase was deeply shocking and disturbing. Even today, I shudder when I think about it.”
The phase, besides having physical repercussions till now, also affected his mental health. “A situation like what I went through can pull you quite quickly into a very dark place. I remember feeling extremely low and despondent at times. It was hard to see any light at the end of that tunnel. I had to put up a strong front at home just to make sure that my family didn’t feel my pain and continued my work at the studio and pushed myself much harder at concerts. Mentally, I was a bit disturbed. But I avoided expressing or talking about it,” Shekhar says.
The musician also posted a photo of the Hanuman Chalisa with his post. Ask what, other than spirituality, helped him recover, and he says, “All the credit for my recovery goes to Dr Erin Walsh, who I refer to as my angel. She was unwavering in her commitment to making sure I overcame this setback and had absolute belief that I would be able to work on my voice and restore it.
She stood strong even as I faltered and helped me keep my spirits up. My beautiful family also stood by me, as my strength.”
Was there a specific treatment that helped? “Vocal exercises curated by Dr Erin helped me to get my voice back. And one huge learning was that a vocal warm up is extremely important before getting on stage. Otherwise, you can cause a great harm to your voice,” he ends.

Brad Pitt will do a world tour to promote his film `F1`, which is set to release on June 25, 2025, informed producer Jerry Bruckheimer, reported Deadline.
“Brad is really invested in this movie,” said Buckheimer, adding, “He doesn`t like to do press, but I think we`ll take him on a world tour where he`ll be glad to show his efforts in driving and acting in this movie.”
`F1` is scheduled to be theatrically released by Warner Bros. Pictures on June 25, 2025, overseas, and in the United States on June 27, 2025.
When asked about the film`s planned premieres before its commercial release, probably referring to Cannes or other film festivals, Bruckheimer didn`t open up much and said, “That`s up for discussion. I think we`re going to show it in Monaco, to the drivers and the F1 teams and then we`ll have premieres in New York and London and a bunch of other cities.”
Apple Original Film announced the film`s title, `F1`, and the film`s poster featuring Pitt in his racing gear. The film stars Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski. Additionally, a teaser poster was released.
“It`s going to be everywhere around the world – Imax theatres, where you`re going to get the huge experience that Imax gives you,” the producer said.
Bruckheimer shared that F1 drivers, “are booked every five minutes. It`s unbelievable what their life is like. The physical toll that it takes on them, the amount of training that they have to do, you never see that. But we`ll certainly show you some of that in the movie. I love to make what I call process movies. I`ve done it over and over again. I had a TV series called CSI that takes you behind the curtain and shows you what the world is really like and that`s what our movie does. You get inside the world of F1 and you see how it actually works. But there`s a lot of wonderful dramatic stories I keep telling,” reported Deadline.
`F1` is an upcoming American sports action drama film directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger based on the motorsport of the same name, created in collaboration with the FIA, its governing body. The film features actors like Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Lewis Hamilton, Javier Bardem and Sarah Niles.
Pitt plays a former Formula One driver who returns to the grid with his colleague (Damson Idris) at APXGP, a fictitious team. The film stars Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.

Film director Ram Gopal Varma on Tuesday requested Andhra Pradesh police for more time to appear before them for investigation over the alleged morphing of images of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and their family members in an “indecent” way, said a police official. A police team from Prakasam district visited Ram Gopal’s Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad recently and served a notice personally to the director, summoning him for investigation on November 19.
Prakasam district Superintendent of Police A R Damodar said the director did not turn up for the probe on Tuesday.
“Ram Gopal Varma sent a written representation through his lawyer requesting more time, about four to five days, to appear for the investigation as he is engaged with pre-scheduled movie shooting,” the SP told PTI.
The SP said that Varma expressed his willingness to “cooperate” with the police. According to the police, Ram Gopal sent his lawyer to the local circle inspector.
The SP said the police will verify the director’s request whether it is true or false and then take a call, adding that generally one or two days more time is given.
However, he observed that if the request was found to be false and a ploy to intentionally avoid the probe, then police would not hesitate to send a team after Ram Gopal.
A case was booked against the popular director at Maddipadu police station in Prakasam district on November 11 for allegedly posting morphed photographs of the CM, deputy CM and others on social media.
The case was booked on the basis of a complaint received from one Ramalingam (45) from Maddipadu under various sections.
Ramalingam filed the case as the alleged social media posts reportedly undermined the standing of the CM, Deputy CM and their family members in society and also hurt their personalities.
Police said the time of these alleged offences would emerge in the investigation.

Actor Nayanthara and her husband, director Vignesh Shivan, were clicked at the airport on Tuesday. The couple were heading out of Mumbai, accompanied by their twins Uyir and Ulag. They seem to have gone on a relaxing birthday vacation if Vignesh’s Instagram stories are anything to go by. Nayanthara and Vignesh made their first public appearance since the actor posted an open letter calling out Dhanush. Nayanthara dressed in a white kurta and pyjama with a dark dupatta, while Vignesh opted for a white T-shirt and tan shorts. Their children twinned in matching T-shirts and shorts, with each parent carrying one of them and cradling them close. Vignesh can also be seen distracting his son and playing with him as they walk through the airport.
While it’s unknown where the couple were heading, Vignesh posted videos on his Instagram stories of a room filled with flowers for Nayanthara, wishing her a happy birthday. A ‘happy birthday’ streamer was also hung up at a window. The actor turned 40 on November 18 and the couple seemed unbothered by recent controversy, even flashing a smile to the paparazzo while heading into the airport.
Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale was released on Netflix on November 18. However, on November 16, Nayanthara penned an open letter addressing Dhanush on her Instagram. She claimed that Dhanush, who had produced Vignesh’s 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan with Nayanthara, was suing them for ₹10 crore for a 3-second clip in the trailer used without his no-objection certificate. She also alleged that they waited 2 years for him to let them use the film’s clips, claiming that he held a grudge against the couple.
While Dhanush did not respond to the allegations publicly, his legal team sent the couple a letter that he was within his rights. Dhanush’s father Kasthuri Raja also refused to speak on the controversy recently.
