Domestic stock exchanges NSE and BSE will remain closed for trading on Tuesday, April 14, on account of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, with activity across commodity markets also partially impacted.Equity markets, NSE and BSE, will remain closed for the entire day, halting trading in stocks, derivatives and equities-linked segments.Commodity markets will see a split schedule. The Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) will remain shut in the morning session but resume trading in the evening between 5 pm and 11:30 pm.In contrast, the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will remain closed for both morning and evening sessions.Trading across all exchanges will resume on Wednesday, April 15.Looking ahead, the next market holidays are scheduled for May 1 (Maharashtra Day) and May 28 (Bakri Eid).The holiday list for the second half of the year includes Muharram on June 26, Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14, and Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Dussehra will be observed on October 20, followed by Diwali Balipratipada on November 10 and Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 24. Markets will remain closed on December 25 for Christmas.Notably, there is no separate holiday for Diwali this year as it falls on a Sunday. Muhurat Trading will be held on November 8, with timings to be announced later.Exchanges may revise the holiday calendar if required, with any changes communicated through official circulars.Earlier this year, markets were closed on January 26 for Republic Day, while March saw three trading holidays — Holi (March 3), Shri Ram Navami (March 26) and Shri Mahavir Jayanti (March 31).
